If she's your ATF and still affordable to you, it will be well worth digging into your bank account. I never assume that the rate a provider gave me originally will always stay the same.  They have every right to raise rates based on the laws of supply and demand. I always check their Web site and unless it is stated that return clients get special rates, the current rate is what I pay. The best providers need to be treated with the utmost care.  Think of it...they're giving you a great experience that has a tremendous amount of value and they all need to be treated as you would like to be treated. A few months ago, I met a provider who only charged $250 and now is in the $400 range.  Steep for me but in terms of beauty and services provided, there is no other who can compare.

She called you, invited you over, and then told you that she had raised her rates, and was not willing to accept the old donation you had given her and wanted more than double her old rate?

Was this before or after you had made yourself comfortable?

If before - I would walk towards the door, keping my eyes her, ask her never to call me again and say "Goodbye".

If after - I would carefully remove her fingers if they were grasping any tender parts of my anatomy, get dressed, and follow the steps described above.

I have NEVER changed the donation on a regular client.

I agree with the others though... If I went "top tier" I certainly would not "need" to call anyone, nor do I NOW unless requested. That was a sneaky low down antic to get more if you ask ME.

I have gone up 50 hourly from when I started out, but that is for newbies. If I see a newbie as a regular he is grandfathers at that amount. To each thier own, but I find it rather low class to pull a stunt like that, even if she is your ATF. I mean, no matter how much you like her, you have to question her actions a bit. Just my .02.

She has the right to raise her rate, but you also have the right to walk.  Considering she called you, she should have grand-fathered you at least one last time.  Since she did not, you should have walked.  I would have.

And an ATF that looked at you like an ATM?  I'd find a new atf.

As a general rule established clients get preferential treatment...at the same time a gals entitled to charge whatever she wants...

Since you didnt know she'd raised her rates i'd assume it had been awhile...so your nor really a "regular"...however she called you so at least that visit should have been at the old rate IMO.

I hope no one else has had this happen, I would think that if you did raise your rates you would either mention it for next time or grandfather you in, I would think most girls keep everyone at the old rate and never have to mention it especially if she knew you considered her an ATF.

I hope you turned around and left. That is utter bullshit IMHO. First the girl solicited your business indicating that she needed some financial help. Second, she never mentioned to you, beforehand, that there would be a change in rate.

Hummm, now that I think about this a bit further, you probably should have asked her for some compensation for your travel and inconvenience.

Also going from $$ to $$$$$, if I understand you correctly, sure sounds like a bad case of GPS to me. Did she practice alot since your last visit???? Gimme a break.

Kick this one to the curb and find a real professional. We have lots of them here in Phoenix.
