I had a little idle time on my hands last night, so I researched an issue that seems to be a hot topic on the TER discussion boards - the risk of HIV transmission through oral sex.  For those who are interested, I posted my analysis and references on the national board.

Help!  How do I get to the National Discussion Board?  THX.

I appreciate that you did the research and it's always good for the girls/guys to stay current on the info. We all need to play safe and know the risks in this business.

I'll see YOU next week Mr. HotOffLoad. Take care until then:)

HotOFFLoan, I'm not sure were you stand on this subject. With all the data you have posted on this and the national board you seem concerned about the issue and yet in your reviews I see you describe both getting BBBJ's and giving DATY.  What's up? Are we scaring the girls unnecessarily by all the talk, but yet continuing our preferred activities?
On one of the private e-mail list in Phoenix this week a provider went off the deep end about the subject and really derided any provider who would be so stupid as to do BBBJ and infered that they would be dead in short order for doing so.
As I've said before DATY is just about as dangerious for a man as BBBJ is for a woman.  What is you real take on the issue?

SlowStart

BBBJTC for the provider carries a VERY small risk of HIV transmission.  Of course, that's not the only disease to be concerned with - hepatitis C and hepatitis B are much more contagious and can be transmitted with bodily fluid exchange as well.

DATY has about the same risk of HIV transmission as DFK - somewhere between almost zero and zero.

As far as my personal views on the subject - I love it all - DATY, DFK, BBBJ - you name it - and I am personally willing to take the very small risk associated with the activity.  But I also test myself for STD's twice yearly to be on the safe side - HIV and Hep C primarily (I am immunized against Hep A & B) The purpose of testing is not so much to protect me, but future my contacts in the hobby.

All in all, I would say its more dangerous to ride in the back seat of Ted Kennedy's car than to participate in the hobby with high quality providers.

Thanks for your honest response, I had a feeling that is where you were on the issue.
