I can only speak for myself and since I am a VIP member anyway it is no biggie that the pm feature is free. I don't mind getting pm's, sometimes it is in the gentleman's favor since I can determine fast that he is a legit gentleman and if he has reviews and some White Listing's then my job of verifying a potential client makes my life much easier, HOWEVER I much more prefer a personal email, since that way I can keep track of what was said and done much easier.
Also, with the high tech of today I think that the email system TER use is kinda behind in its' development. I would probably use it much more personally if one could see if and when I responded to a post in my Inbox or if I could put some email's in Named Folders that I make up myself, however I also understand that things like that takes much more space on TER and I am sure it would cost a fortune to develop those features.
I do however answer pm's I get but rarely utilize it unless I have to.

I would like to ask how many actually use the PM feature??? I come from Ca. but have been here since abut 2000 or 2001, then was back in Sacramento from about late 2004 to 2007.
I have gone slow here as I'm used to a Ca. board that is a lot more active. (No disrespect meant to TER, the other board does not cover AZ.) I'm a registered member but not a paid member at this point. I was waiting to get a feel for how active it is here. Many of you know each other and there is some drama, not sure why that is always the case but it seems to just be what it is.

because we get access to it for free. out of 10 pm a day, i would say only 2 from hobbyists and the rest are from other providers.
most of the drama on the boards is fake.
the really good stuff is handled via pm.
I grow weaary of them as well as the misrepresentation of independant providers in the Valley. Not "ALL" of us follow the same business/"skank ho mafia" guidebook that you do.
So, in answer to the gentlemans question, not ALL providers utilize the pm feature. Some of us prefer email via the accounts we set up in the begining of our venture in this business.

A lot of the ladies and getns do but not all have the VIP membership. The envelope by the name does not mean they have PM just that is they are signed in and that is there use name. It can be frustrating sending a PM, waiting for a response and then not knowing if it went through

next to their name have access to the ter pm system so its relatively safe to assume that they will recieve the message in their inbox unless they have some sort of issue.
however, not all providers even log on to ter everyday as strange as that may seem, i know this is true of ... nobody really but i'm guessing that there are probably some that are waaay too busy doing other much more important things.
some log on and choose to ignore the system altogether, maybe dont know how to use it, fear of clicking, dunno probably all kinds of reasons i cant speak for everybody and dont want jasmine to get me.
i however, am quite fond of the pm and excuse me while i self promote but i have heard from more than one person that i'm very good at it . so if you'd like a practice pm partner, you are more than welcome to click on my lil envelope.
Having reviews linked on the provider's posts is an entirely separate function from PM access. A provider can read her PMs only if she has a VIP membership. She gets VIP by either paying for it, or by participating in the White List program.
The unfortunate technical oddity of the PM system is that you cannot tell if your message is readable by your recipient. In fact, if you send someone a PM when they don't have VIP, it will be stored, and they will be able to read it later, if they ever get a VIP membership.

i pm tuesday4u and asked her ... she doesnt pay vip and she doesnt white list.
provider status means your reviews are linked to your profile name, you have access to provider board, you have access to pm.
when a provider has 3 or more reviews she can request provider status.
you can tell if she has provider status by the (see my reviews) messsage linked to her profile name
does anyone see the hilarity here ?
