I know a provider who doesn't really enjoy the lifestyle anymore, wants to move on but I think feels trapped since she tried to but is back at it. I saw her for several years, got close, tried to help but I'm not much help at this point. My question - is there a local group, organization or support group that might be able to help her transition out of a situation she's not happy with and feels trapped? She's a nice woman who just needs a helping hand to get her on a path she feels more comfortable. Thanks for any leads or advise.
Hope your friend finds help. Have seen this on BP. Seems more for young people, but could hopefully point in right direction: http://www.childrenofthenight.org/
MissChloe is right though, your friend needs to assess her skills, get a resume together and find a job. If finanial issues are what keeps her doing what shes doing, even if she doesnt want to anymore, then she needs to get those cleaned up ASAP or she will always feel trapped into having to escort to pay the bills and that can lead to all kinds of problems. I hope everyone has some sort of exit plan, and that exit plan definitely needs to include supporting oneself when their income is cut by 50-75% or more. Good luck to your friend, I hope she finds peace K
Didn't every hear back from them when I tried to see if they could help. I think they are really working the explotation issue and younger girls.
My recommendation is go with a local church. I am currently battling my sex addiction and the pastor of my local church has been very kind and helpful. If you friend is in need of financial help, most churches will be able to set her up short term. The church I go to is not hard on me accepting Christ at this time and the focus is on helping me get over this addiction. the key is to find a church that that you are comfortable with - Avoid baptist churches. The other option is to find a local chapter of sex addicts anonymous (SAA) that might help in strengthening the mind and willpower in a non-threatening environment.
to earn an adequate living in civie jobs. Few providers can do this business into older age... so it is smart to do an exit plan. In many areas there are women's resources... it's at least worth exploring. One of the hardest things is to account for gaps in resume'.
This business is not for everyone & even if one went into it willingly, if one no longer wants to, most here would appreciate her decision. Wishing her the best
