I realize some folks get very upset with me when I bring bad news, and don't like to hear about busts etc.

But one of our well known, nicest guy photographers was arrested this afternoon related to the DD case.  He had an attorney lined up before and will probably be arraigned tonight.

I understand he has never been in legal trouble before and I am sure is needing all the warm thoughts and support we can provide.

For those following my reports somewhere else, we had just warned now that DD folks have admitted they were part of an illegal criminal prostitution organization it makes it much easier for police to go after anyone connected with them - in addition to the 50+ already arrested.

Most gals pleaded guilty to Class 6 felonies which I have discussed in detail.  And the "ring leaders" have been sentenced to prison terms or some sentencing still to come after guilty pleas on being part of a criminal organization.

There is a lot of speculation about other arrests but only speculation at this point.

Everyone as one escort said "everyone should be on paranoid alert" since LE is out to get such dangerous criminals whose crime is in private pleasure - legal in almost all the world except the U.S.

Reminder - never suggest anything sexual for money. You only sell time not sex, which one case was won in as I've extensively reported on. Time with an escort is perfectly legal. Paying for sex is not.

Sorry to those that don't want to hear the truth about bad things going on.  We need to be very careful with other known busts happening in the last few weeks.

Major bummer about our photog friend.  Just sucks that with all the real crime problems we have, that LE feels the need to harass the common folk.

i have the search term prostitution on google alert. i get an email everyday that has all the news related to the industry.

i go on to the news articles which normally have a comments section and i post comments in defense of the industry.

get involved. you can do it anonymously if you want.

this is political warfare.
tell them to get the hell out of our bedroom.
tell them you wont support policies or the politicians that are tough on private sexwork.

canada won and we will too.

I have been on the google list for years. Amazing how many busts every day around the US.  I often comment in various papers comments section and ana suggests.  I encourage it.

Surveys have shown the general public does not want to waste Court/LE money going after in private consenting adult sexwork.  But the influence of the religious right on law makers and all the crap mixing it up with trafficking make it unlikely to get laws changed.  A group in CA had the best approach.  Certainly not SWOP with their long failed approach of insisting on street hookers being a public nuisance.

We also have legal arguments for a strong defense both on unconstitutionality (Lawrence vs Texas), pay only for time not sex, recently a winning strategy before a NY jury, and the AZ law being very vague.

BTW Canada didn't win... Like in most of the world prostitution itself has never been illegal.  Street hooking of course is as a public nuisance. In the 1800's they passed the bawdy house law that technically makes incalls illegal.  However it is rarely enforced unless complaints or other crimes.  But outcall as in most of the world is 100% legal with consenting adults with no real negative results - positive in my view in a culture.

For ideas on responding in comment sections in media here are some talking points from my typical response depending on the situation:

Probably about 90% of all prostitution in the U.S., is not street hookers but in private consenting adults, mostly independent women or via escort agencies with no pimps and hidden from the public unlike public nuisance street hookers.

At least $1 million of police and Court resources wasted on recent big private busts in Phoenix, Houston and other cities for the dangerous crime of providing in private consenting adult pleasures.

At least outcall prostitution is legal in almost all the world except the U.S. with no real negative results.  Incall varies from illegal but rarely enforced in Canada, only 1 gal per flat in the U. K. to huge public brothels in Australia, New Zealand, Germany etc.

Outcall like to hotels is fully legal almost everywhere except the U.S.

Public opinion polls have show the public does not want resources wasted on private consenting adult sexwork.    But the only organized group to fight for law changes is SWOP who have gotten two voter initiatives on the ballet in CA but as expected they were soundly defeated because they wanted to decrim street hookers. The public will never accept public nuisance street hookers.

Just as private sexwork is legal in almost all the world, street hooking is not.  Zones in Europe and many options have been tried and failed.

It is very low cost for police to arrest street hookers vs the millions spent on many years investigations going after in private consenting adults as in the recent agency cases.

The war against private sex being waged in the U.S. may not even  be constitutional based on the Supreme Court Lawrence vs Texas case that ruled that morality is not a legal basis for laws, and that the government has no business in private bedrooms.

The anti folks what you to believe all their trafficking lies etc. When someone actually tries to find the exploited women they realize while certainly some of it goes on its very small numbers and there are already laws against kidnapping child abuse etc.  It is a totally a non argument to continue the war on in private consenting adult sexwork.

For the religious right, prostitution was common and no big deal in biblical times as of course the norm was to have many wives and concubines. Adultery was only wrong for a married women never a married man as long as the “other women“ was not married (owned by a husband as property). But never anything wrong with a married man having sex with single woman,  concubines, or "common prostitutes" - not the sex goddess prostitutes worshiping the fertility gods in the temples of Corinth.  Idolatry was the sin, not prostitution.

Dave thanks for the info.  It is nice to see how supportive you are others.  Be a lot better world if we had more Dave's and less people out for themselves only.

Don't know any of the DD people.  But my heart goes out to them all.  Especially the cuties.

Glen I met once and it seems odd that a person who takes pictures gets in trouble.  I know the girls all liked him. I even have a funny Sasha Glen story.

it took them 10 years.

oh in the industry links and resources, there's a link to the canadian political activists that fought for legalization.

The issue in England lately was wanting to allow more than just one prostitute per flat for safety etc. But it was not passed.

Outcall has always been legal in the U.K and most of Europe.  Incall is limited to 1 worker at a time and of course "kerb crawling" (street solicitation) is not legal.

but, when I have more time, I'll write more concerning the legal dynamics of prostitution...

(Note:please don't shoot me,the Sheika is only the messanger. I truly love you all).

In our community, Glen was and is well thought of, however the general public views people like Glen as a person who is something more than a photographer.

In the public's eye, a person like Glen is an enabler. He is one who subtly helps or enables young girls along the dark, dank path of decadence, pridition and eventuallly prostituiton, and they veiw him as a person who derives his livlyhood for ladies who sell sex.

The general public, including law enforcement, does not look kindly upon these people, consequently ways are found to connive and coerce those associated with the business to turn against each other.  I wish it wasn’t so, but the truth is the truth.

A few months ago, shortly after the Nichta/DD scandal broke, Glen retired. He bid us a fond farewell on this board, did he not? I am sorry for his arrest, but I had my suspicions.

PEACE,

Sheika Fatima
