One of the advantages of using an assistant may be that it gives the provider what we might refer to as "plausable deniability" should a LE issue arise based on the original phone contact.

Anyone else have this problem? I've been trying to see this provider for the last couple weeks. Her assistant emails one of my references. That provider emails back..but the assistant says she can't find the email...and i know she emailed back. All the while i'm dealing with this second party.

Not sure if this would qualify, but, you might try and forward from your e-mial the references e-mail?  Might work if hte address matches the one the assistant had been trying to find.

with the lady I want to see, forget it. I'm not going through anybody's assistant. Now, if the assistant wants to show up, and give me the time of my life, hey let's talk.

I'm not into dealing with assistants either. When I see "call my assistant" in a providers ad
I just keeping moving on.

I know a few ladies who use assistants (or phone operators) to screen they're calls. There is nothing wrong with that. If the lady's bizzy, or not to good on screening calls, or just wants someone else to answer they're phones. I would rather set up an apointment with an assistant then to keep leaving messages and not having her call back.

Just my 2 cents.

p.s. How do you actually know who you are talking to anyhow?

When I open the door, I want them both to be standing there.

thank you for your understanding... it really does ease the scheduling process sometimes! xoxoxo

Janelle, I never once dealt with an assistant. My emails were answered by Janelle, and she answered her own phone. Perhaps it's a different Janelle. Of course, I can understand not talking to a lady directly when you use an agency, but I just like to talk with the lady I'll be seeing. It's just a personal preference. Thanks for your comments.

Thankfully the person smoothed things out for me, i think. I have left out the name of who i am talking about , purposefully.

I, as a provider, prefer to talk to the gentleman directly so we can start our connection right then and not at the front door.

Each lady has their reasons for using an assistant or not but IMHO I prefer to talk one on one.

Play safe and stay cool.

if the principal cant make her own deals than why should i run some sort of gauntlet.
Gullivers Travels showed us over a century ago what happens to those who become addicted to assistants.
I dont have a mouth flapper nor will do i business with one who does.
