This is a conscious and explicit tactic to demonstrate collective client buying power and the ability to influence the casual public so that those who do this can negotiate preferential pricing with agencies.  Indies are abandoning the board in droves, or in desperation joining the agencies.  Don't buy it?  Check the "regulars" who contribute to the thank you chorus, so many posts, so few different names.  Missing your friendly posters?  They've just gone to other boards. This is not an anti-agency rant.  I use 'em and they are great.  Market power!
