Okay, enough sarcasm.... anything can happen on both sides and you can't always explain it at the time. Your cell could die and you don't have your charger, you could get pulled over (I had this happen twice in the same night for the same guy! They were doing a drunk driver sting, so I was let go both times - I wasn't drunk... just driving stupid so I looked drunk... it happens when you are lost... lol) on the way to an outcall for a traffic issue, an emergency... who knows!
It happens to guys, too. I had a guy fall asleep so when I called to confirm before I headed over, he didn't answer. I didn't go. He told me the next day what happened, so we set up a date an another day. Could a provider fall asleep? Yes, stuff happens.
I had a guy at a hotel have his sig. other show up to surprise him as I was walking to his room. He ushered her out quickly without time to explain and I arrived to knock on the door with no response. He wasn't able to text to explain until 20 min later. I was pissed until he told me what happened because it was a one hour drive. He had references and everything, so stuff happens.
All appointments are tentative until someone answers the door. That's the best way to look at it.
I always have a phone confirmation before heading (I text or call when I leave to head his way) for an outcall with an eta so the guy doesn't have to worry if I am going to show up or not. Great communication is the key to a great time.
why do you bring this to a REVIEW board if you have no names to share?
I think if one gets "stood up" they should just "button up" if they don't care to expose who the flake is. After all what good does it do the rest of us…….share it with your therapist.
Crying on the board that a provider stood you up is fine, if your going to share who she was to warn your fellow hobbyists. If your not going to share, then simply don't say anything.
This is not said to be rude or mean but to bring up the fact that this board is nothing more than an advertising forum without constructive and informative input. And to be honest the board was never intended in TER's view to be a advertising medium, though it certainly is.
Soon we may hear from others who say, the provider may have had a good reason. That life happens etc. Thats also acceptable. And when you get a response from her you can post that as well. Or she can get on the board and vindicate herself. I have had two NCNS in my life. In both instances the client paid 50% at a later date to make up for it. She should offer the OP a similar deal if she is real, give him a discount.
I am getting so weary of watching clients get ripped off and abused by providers and vice versa. Its time for some honesty in this business.
Doesn't requesting a PM only propagete the situation? Some have to travel long distances and allot big chunks of time to see a provider. Doesn't anyone think it might be a worthswhile statistic to know how many times a provider flaked? Everyone understands the one off. It might be important to many to see if a certain provider has a pattern or something coming up.
This has only happened to me twice in the last year....I don't know if this is a lot or not. I did not feel comfortable throwing out the name because anything could have happened and I was contacted two days later with an apology. I will be honest about the situation and tell you all I was just whining but I also wanted to instigate a conversation as to what the boards protocol should be regarding NCNS.
