END OF MESSAGE

curiosity from viewing another posting has led me to ask - What is "role-playing"?  Is it (a) a game of dress-up; (b) some form of s&m; or (c) just like being married?

Role playing is just as it sounds you play a role and act out some fantasy you may have. Example might be your a patient and Im a naughty nurse or your a big time mobster and my boyfriend owes you money and he doesnt have the money so he gives me to you for the night and I have to do whatever you say to work off this debt.... and the list goes on and on and on and the possibilities are endless.. Did that help or was that a little TMI?

what is "TMI"?  (just kidding)  Actually, you kinda answered my question, although I did receive a few emails that suggest that role playing is somewhat in the eyes of beholder.  It seems to vary from the whimsical to the intense.

See now, I always thought role-playing was like Dungeons and Dragons...I was gonna ask if I could be a chaotic good rogue half-elf....see what I don't know. *grin*

i had to jump in as this has become a favorite of mine!roleplaying is the behavior of playing a character other than oneself during sex to emulate or evoke a fantasy.alot of the time it involves some sort of power assigning to each character. (often refered to as 'top' and 'bottom' )ie:the naughty nurse has the power and is the 'top' and the helpless patient 'bottom'roleplaying is part of fetishism and to find a myriad of more info and really get your mind going see link below;) and happy playing!maybe I will come to play soon w/you guys!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_fetishism

Sorry, a stupid pun.  I’m not sure if you were responding to me in particular.  But I don’t think there is such a thing as a stupid fetish.  As does everyone, I have a few fetish/favs of my own.  As an example, at first I didn’t get the whole S&M thing.  I couldn’t relate to someone deriving pleasure from inflicting pain or having it inflicted upon them.  Then I took the time to do a little research and found out its as much about trust as about pain.  To surrender yourself and or command the desires of your partner without fear of real harm is intriguing.  This I can relate too, so I try never to close my mind to potential avenues of pleasure.  Sex is ultimately about freedom.  So be you a TOP or a bottom, bring me my Toga and let the good times Roll!!!

I surfed the net to see if there was some study about what sorts of things men and women fantasize about.  I was rather suprised at one particular fantasy.

According to healthyplace.com, the #1 sexual fantasy of women is being "raped", and #6 is being "sexually ravaged".  (BTW-#4 is being paid for sex/stripping.)

Another study on the same website indicates that 13% of women have fantasized about being raped (albeit with someone they already know), while only 4% of men share (or admit to sharing) the same fantasy.

What do you think about this?
