You would be awesome in a boot camp. The people taking the camp are taking it to get pushed. Just make sure you keep an eye out for the abilities of those involved and taylor your class accordingly.
I had a ex-boxer personal trainer who used to push me and make me work through my exhaustion, but at the same time he knew when to give me a break. I loved every minute of the time spent training with him.
I would never get a personal trainer who wouldn't push me.
Best of luck and enjoy.

I've been asked to teach a boot camp class ironically starting in Jan. My question is would you take it, or would you be terrified of me after the first class and say fuck it?

Yes I know I'm extreme when I'm in the fitness mode, I just want to know if it would be too extreme for weak people, answer honestly I won't be offended.

Bailey  I have not had the pleasure of meeting you although I would like to, but if the person that asked you to do this boot camp feels confident in your abilities to do this job maybe you should go ahead and do it. You know yourself best.  These people that are going to be in this boot camp are going to need some pushing just don't push them off a cliff. LOL  I think you'll do fine, you have the passion for exercise and that why you were asked to do this.

Weak mentally and emotionally, nobody starts out strong physically.

I just want to know if people could handle my classes, I'm a machine in the gym and I would expect the students to be one as well.

Who you calling weak?
Btdt... Boot camp, I mean... Complements of Uncle Sam's Army:)
More importantly where were you when I needed a personal trainer?
I'd take in a heartbeat, you are not that scary and I know my limitations...
Only problem would be I'd want to jump your bones and lick the salt off after class *evilgrin*

There's already so many people out there who had to seek therapy just from being around me, this would make the list longer lol.

If you are as good as you say and have been offered to lead a group of people in "Boot Camp", Go for it. Dont look back 10 years from now and ask yourself "I wonder if I could get 25 people to achieve their fitness goals?"  I hope you inspire your students to finish  THEIR GOALS!!!
So is there a photo shoot in the future with female Drill Instructor headgear? or you more like a lethal weapon where you will wear a green beret? If you become a weapons instructor let me know and I will take your class! Good Luck to you and your future fitness endeavor! NIKE JUST DO IT

This whole idea of a boot camp to get 25 people to achieve their fitness goals is nonsense.  First off, everyone has different fitness goals.   Secondly, the idea behind boot camp is to primarily get people to think and act as a team, incorporate them into the military, and achieve a standard level of fitness.

These people would be better served hiring a trainer to scream and rant at them.

The only thing a fitness boot camp has in common with military boot camp is you have to start at the beginning. Anything that gets 25 unfit people to start down the road to fitness is good. It's not nonsense at all, but an idea that should be expanded given the obesity epidemic in this country. Bring back p.e. in all levels of school from pre-school through college and make it mandatory...

As for military boot camp, they did achieve a "standard" level of fitness with me.. I was in better physical shape going than at completion. Too many mashed taters and gravy reduced my fitness level to that of the rest of the company... as for teamwork, they failed with me, I didn't and don't work and play well with others.. They did, however, "incorporate" me into the military :)

Maybe you should learn more about the different types of fitness bootcamp and how they work before you go dissing it.

Its also a matter of the instructors attitude towards the people participating in the class if you go in thinking of them as weak or subordinate to you it will just piss them off and they will walk.
Yours would be the role of the teacher to train them but also encourage them.
There should never be a point where someone would have a reason to "fear you" in that situation or any other situation for that matter.
Being physically fit does not make someone omnipotent just dedicated.
I work my behind off at the gym and I love my trainer...most days. but some days he pure mix of 5 kinds of evil.(that would be Mondays..lol)

This way you can whip him into shape before he calls you for a date. LOL

Kidding aside how long will your class be for and how many days or nights a week is required to attend.

It’s been over 40 years since I went thought boot camp. I miss the pain. Not

I haven't met you personally, but you are definetly an attractive woman, which would be nice to see in a gym setting, but why would I be terrified of you after one session? Because you ran me/us into the ground? Ultimately you want the students to come back otherwise the boot camp will be of no use to anyone. The instructors in this type of setting should be able to bury the students, the good ones know just how far to take it without going over the line. Thanx

Say fuck it and do not return because you are too extreme that is good because they are the people you do not want in your class and you need to cull then out so you can get on with it.

Thank You

And on the first day, show up with a Marine Corp Drill Instructor hat and tell them it's going to be hell and they're going to want to puke, but it's your job to be tough and push them. Hell, it's called "Boot Camp" for a reason.

Go For It!

Harold is applying his recollection of military boot camp here.  Doesn't understand that other than it being intensive, it really has little in common with the military version from which it takes its name but little else.

When I come to attend her boot camp I'm going to need a place to stay. Zipcode, can I sleep on the couch at your place....if there's any room left on it, that is.  :D

finally someone has articulated what the true meaning of "boot camp" exercise is.  tough but not the degrading activities that servicemembers have endured.

Bailey said she's going to keep you 24 hrs a day and get you up ai 5 am very mornig to do the army daily dozen,  breakfast at 7 and back to training at 8 am to 6 pm.

Looks like there’ll be no play time for you on your next visit to Phoenix.

Don’t worry I’ll cover for you just send me the list of names you were planning on seeing.

PS: Don't forget to prepay them. LOL
