Why the fear for M&G's and my observations.

(Note the original great thread about the old days and meets and greets and replies was deleted since it seems "handles" if not currently members on TER, can not be used.  I am trying to post my reply deleting all the personal "handles"info.)

There should be no legal fear of an M&G as long as not done like the DD's was. But done like the condo parties I hosted with about 100, and the xxxx Rxxxx's Txx for Txxx, Jxxx's xxxxxxxx meetings, etc. I remember Vxxxx being at many of them!

In my humble opinion the problems with the few M&G's of the last five years or so, that I have been at is if you are not well known in the group and not the social butterfly it is very hard to get much out of them other than boredom unless you just want to drink a lot and talk sports.  

I realize while I am outspoken I am not a social butterfly unless I am leading it like when I MC'd the condo parties. I thought it was just me until I brought as a friend - a former world bodybuilding champion ( many years ago as Ms. Gxxxx) and she made the same comment to me at a Jxxx'x Mxxxxx's party. Jxxx and I have been friends for decades and of course Jxxx is a very friendly good host. Only after we left in boredom not easily getting into conversations we met a couple of gals in the parking lot and had the best conversation of the night. The party was retiring to a nearby Scottsdale strip club which turned out splendid for myself and Ms. Gxxxxxx.  

Later a few years ago there was another M&G, but only about 12 folks showed up until more at the very end- many from this board. I think I was with Ms. Gxxxxxx or someone else, forget and other than a great conversation with I believe his handle is txxxxx exxxxx  it was the same thing until towards the end Jxxx came with some of his crowd and he introduced us to his folks. "Txxxx" is a very sharp guy which we enjoyed meeting but never really had a chance to meet many other gals. I recall one who is active still today here that we wanted to meet but she was always with other guys, and we didn't want to intrude. Axxxxxise I believe.

Some of these gals I'd never meet as companions since not interested in the typical fees, being spoiled by Canada and not interested in the usual stuff to pay more than $200/hr- for giving massage, companionship, intelligent conversation - of course not sex since that is illegal to pay for.  

The other problem if there are some folks like myself who are not interested in just sitting around for 5 hours drinking (in my case diet cokes) and mostly bored for a M&G say from 7pm till midnight. Most folks drag in at different times so unless you are willing to stay the whole time don't know when to come.  

I know I am in the minority but like more a structured meet. Or like Rzzz good at introducing folks have nametags (critical in my view) and the raffle etc. At the condo we met in large community room, had a set social time, an introduction of all the gals, open discussion on issue of concern and then for those wanting to join in the "sky high condo" where I did massage demos had Sybian set up and was a great group (although crowded).  

Likewise, I have been to some great M&Gs in Toronto. At a Halloween party, I have this outfit that is a huge U.S. dollar bill! Although its faded a bit now.

No, I am not interested in organizing a party - don't have the time or interest anymore. But just tossing out ideas pro and con from the good old days before all the legal issues created so much fear. However, there should be no fear for an M&G as long as no fee arrangements are made for any future sexual contact and under AZ law no one is "assisting" anyone in the business. Just a social meeting.  

In the DD case, it wasn't only what was done at the party but the owner trusting the "fisherman" and various others undercover's with his explicit discussion of sex for money as well as the solicitations at the party. Hope xxxx is back on his feet and doing well, that was one of the many sad results of the DD case, having to spend time in prison. He is such a nice guy and the great photos he did for so many gals.  

Oh yes, and long ago the M&G I was a bit late arriving after being at Rzzzzs and as I walked in a great gal with a great voice sang the full 1st verse of "Oh Canada" as I came in ! For old times this was like 20 years ago - the gal that did the online video chats with various escorts from a Studio in downtown Phoenix I visited.

Yes, the good old days, but fear should not stop meet and greets if done legally.

I don't do meet & greets because I don't drink, smoke, go to strip clubs or stay up past 9pm.  If they were actually fun interactive events like bowling I would for sure go to them and stay up til 11pm lol.  

I just have no desire to hang out at a restaurant bar lounge, then a strip club all night.

Bowling is a great idea - totally legal and fun way to meet. I love the Main Event Entertainment in Tempe near Ikea. We just have to make sure its a meet and greet and stick to agreed upon guidelines on conversation. As long as we avoid the money talk and keep our discussion related to sex and fun - we will be totally golden.

The other option is Top Golf, nice fun place for a meet and greet. Each of us pay for our own costs, but some of us gentlemen can pick up tab for a girl...

Now, who is good in organizing???

First, I must admit I came along towards the end of the era I am about to describe.  It follows the thread below about this board being slow or dead.  When I first came on the scene Phoenix was the mecca of the Hobby world.  This board was the envy of TER Land.  It was active, responsive, sometimes antagonistic but always extremely active.  Back then Phoenix became known as "Poon Valley".....complete with it's own Mayor, a Captain Dick, and a cadre of characters who regularly kept the members entertained.  
   
Regular posters were seen on the boards daily and items of topics related to assisting Visitors and Members with quality information regarding many different Ladies or related topics.    There were quarterly M & G's with attendance many times well over a 100 TER Members.  Held in discreet locations and a screening process to attend that would rival the CIA vetting process.    
   
I remember attending a Toys for Tots fundraiser hosted by then Mama Rose from the Rose Garden.  She was a icon in this Valley before her passing and knew everyone and everybody.  Many a hobbyist began their hobby life with Mama Rose and her trusted sidekick Sammy Jo.    
   
Fear can do a lot to people.  The Hobby Community that existed then has long since evaporated or moved deep underground.  No wonder we have a lot of silence.  Craig List gone.   Backpage gone.  Other regional boards closed and owners indicted.  Through it all TER has remain the constant.    All of this begs the question why can't we bring this type of activity back from the dead?  The answer is simple,,,,FEAR.....Until the community gets past that word most will not step up or step out front so to speak.  Last year a local member tried to host a M & G.  You could count on one hand the number of TER members who showed up.  The majority of the attendees came from another site.  
   
I see post here asking why not host a M & G.  Who is willing to step up, find a safe place, do the screening and be responsible for the members safety?  Back in the day is was Brian and Taylor Lynn from Club TLC and Jack from Mystique.  They worked together to create a positive environment for the community.  So now the question remains to be answered......Will someone assume the mantle and bring Phoenix back to a fun community again?????????

Unfortunately, one of the last M&G that I knew of, about a year ago, was not secure.  
The organizers made it a "bring a friend" event. That was not secure. And I think it caused more fear of those kinds of events in the Valley.  
That effected the one you talk about.
