Adrift in the land of milk and honey....

I'm curious how "we" (hobbiest) are adapting to the current realities (if they are actually effecting us). I happened to have lunch last week with a good friend who's one of the better known contributers here. It quickly became a walk down memory lane and "the good old days". Back when we had more time, more money and less overall "worry".

Even though things personally have been pretty good I'm working longer to keep it that way so the "half day" encounters with past ATFs is just that...past. I don't have the time or attention span anymore. I've got leads on a few excellent semi UTR gals but logistics being what they are actually getting a fit can be frustrating. I know a lot of the established mainstream gals but my sense is one of mass entropy...everyones fighting to keep the world how it was and tensions are running a bit high.

In then end for me it seemed a bit simpler to do the research and step down in grade. 1st time out I didnt take chances just went with the 411 readily available here. Have to say I came away very impressed. Pretty (very cute), pragmatic, all business but in a monkey business kind of way. No runs drips or errors, no posturing and a very good time.

Ruth's Chris....hardly. But for me at least its a Black Angus type of world at the moment and it was actually very nice. Whats even more interesting is I called 3 gals and got calls back from the other 2 (one just as I was pulling into parking lot)...both were pleasant professional and very interested in my business.

It's been along time since any real thread from "our" perspective. No question IMO that if you have the time, money and state of mind that gals like Piper, Brooke Banks etc are well worth it...but if the money isn't there or like me the state of mind isn't...how are you dealing with it?

(as always review to follow but who I saw isn't relevant to this discussion)

Sometimes money seems to flow, life is great, and nothing can go wrong.  Other times money gets tight, kpho releases lists of names (mine isn't on there, thank god they don't get to ruin my life), and you have to step back.
My personal perspective is this: When you are young, the world is full of possibilities and you can accomplish anything, but when you  get older you suddenly realize that you have to take the world as is, and you settle for what is good enough instead of striving for the best.  As adults, we all settle for the good enough, but there are special times in our lives when we still want to reach for the best, and I think hobbying is a great outlet for that.  Not everybody chooses hobbying for that outlet, some choose religion, some start families, and other do whatever they like to in order to resolve the disconnect between hope and reality, but either way, we all have to deal somehow.
I know, for myself, I have seen some ladies who I consider to be top notch, and am very happy to have made their acquaintance.  It's not something I can do all the time, and of course it is something that I hope I can continue to do, but as time shifts, so do priorities, and perhaps someday I'll give up the hobby entirely!  However, at this time, I am trying to take a step back for a little bit, to at least catch my breath, sort out my other priorities, and then perhaps look afresh at the hobby.   I think my priorities have shifted to fewer meetings with ladies, but with ladies of higher quality.  I'd much rather have the feeling of more money well spent on a great provider than of less money thrown away on a craigslist scam.
I've never had the pleasure of meeting Brook Banks, for instance, so perhaps I don't have quite as much room to speak, but, from my point of view, Black Angus is an excellent place to be!

I've had long term ATF relationships with a half dozen or so gals widely regarded as among Phoenix's finest. Others like Piper, Chanelle. "The Isabella's" etc I've had encounters but never longterm relations (only so much time and money). I've also had the ability to hobby around the world for close to 20 years. To be honest its the 1st time I've felt (locally at least) that the hobby is truly out of touch with reality (at least mine).

TxToast,

You mentioned that the "hobby" is "out of touch"... Im wondering what it is your trying to say.

My Hubby Alex AND I have both decided to offer an experience that is truly special and unique by becoming providers.  True, we are a little "green" - but having come from the swinger lifestyle - we are not "amateurs".

Further, we've been told our rates are "up there"... but then again, we have our reasons.

1) We have no desire to become high-volume "meat"
2) We only take 2 appointments a week, so our time is scarce.
3) Hobbyists enjoy the company of BOTH myself AND my husband.
4) Beyond your more typical "service calls" we offer an adventure.

Why do people go on vacation?  We figure that much the same reason they vacation will be many of the same reasons they choose to hobby with us.

xxoo
