I think the decision to recreate the Marylin photoshoot was kinda tragic. They could have chosen to present her in the best possible manner as a beautiful woman who is showing that she has grown out of the spoiled brat child and is now claiming her own power. Instead they are demanding a comparision with the ultimate sex-symbol using one of the most iconic photo shoots in American culture. A comparison that does not serve her well. It's just a gimmick, which makes her one too.

Fascinating arts nailed it, if they would have done a regular spread it would have been better. You can't compete with a legend and expect to come out on top

Personally I am not impressed with the Playboy pics of Lindsey Lohan. Looking at this whole discussion from a different perspective... She  IS the one on Playboy! She probably got 500K or 1M. None of us got there! Now some are gonna be like "oh I wouldnt pose"  well guess what "noone recruited you for Playboy to pose"
