I have taken the liberty of reprinting here for my TER colleagues and providers an excerpt from a research paper I recently submitted to the American Journal of Irreproducible Phenomena" that establishes once and for all that the male brain is bigger - and therefore superior to - the female brain. For the male hobbyists on this forum, cheer on!  For the female providers - read it and weep!!  I have also posted this critically important scientific study on the national TER discussion board as well.

"The size of the brain is established at an early age, with the whole brain volume at 95% of its adult size by the age of 4. Most men are thrilled to learn of this fact, since we have to wait until puberty for our other brain to grow.

However, the brain continues to develop through the teen age, with many of these changes being sex specific.

Here are the important points: In the adult brain, the overall cerebral size is LARGER in men than women. There are specific parts of the brain that are larger in women, these parts are linked to specific biophysiologic differences between men & women:

The caudate nucleus (the "committment" area of the brain) is larger in women. Also larger in women are the hippocampus (the "shopping" area), some prefrontal cortical regions devoted to jealousy, the superior temporal gyrus (the chocolate area), and some white matter structures such as the anterior commisure inportant for telephone skills.

In the male, the hypothalamus (devoted to sex), stria terminalis (also sex), cerebral ventricles(sex & sports), and the splenium and genu of the corpus callosum are larger. These latter areas are not well understood but seem to be the center for "lame excuses" and quite possibly "toilet aiming" behavior.

In regions where the volume of the structure may not be different, there may be a difference in neuron density. For example, a region of the suprachiasmatic nucleus, which controls crotch scanning behavior, contains twice as many neurons in men until middle age, when the sex difference reverses and then ultimately disappears."
