Any where around Fashion Square mall in Scottsdale. Lots of hotels, resorts, restaurants and clubs in the area.

There are lots of great places Valley-wide... Phoenix Central Corridor, Biltmore area and Down-Town has much cooler (and I think better) places than Scottsdale... scotts is nice - a few cool places, cowboy ciao, the mission, los sombreros,  citezen public house, barrio queen (although barrio cafe in PHX is better) - but it's for for poseurs, old frat boys, and bad plastic surgery victims... (very predictable and pedestrian)...

Just a couple suggestions in PHX - gotta go to Richardsons, Pizzaria Bianco, Gallo Blanco, Italian Restaurant, The Parlor, Postinos... much more and a real art scene...

Downtown Tempe, Mill Ave is fun to hang and people watch -  happy hour at Cafe Boa is cool... but best restaurant is House of Tricks...

Even in Gilbert - Liberty Market is awesome and another Postinos...
