I used to go to Prickly Pear in Scottsdale all the time before it was shut down.  Anyone have a good suggestion on another similar place to eat?

I never ate at the Prickly Pear so I can't help. In Phoenix I like La Canasta. For spicy Los Dos Molinos. Maybe be try some restaurant review sites like Yelp.

This is the second request for restaurant help in the last week or two. Are we becoming a restaurant review board now?  I like the Tee Pee
in Phoenix near 40th St. and Indian School.

Not familiar with the Pear, but I'd suggest Julio G's on Indian School and Miller

They have locations throughout the valley and I think they are yummy yum yum! Never went to Prickly Pear, so I have no comparison between the two but that would be my Mexican restaurant suggestion.

Abuelo's has some amazing food.  There's a location by Arrowhead, and one in Chandler.

Richardson's on 16th street and Bethany Home is excellent as well, although its more "New Mexican" than "Mexican".  Try the grilled garlic appetizer, its mind-blowing!

And if you want "old school", the original Garcia's on 35th Ave between Indian School and Thomas is great.

If you're looking for an "authentic" and fantastic burrito, try the Carne Asada or Shrimp burritos at Polibertos on the corner of 43rd and Glendale.

Pedro's in Glendale......been around ever since I can remember I worked there all through high school and still frequent as often as I can...Rod Stewart even has given a thumbs up.

If you want good food without the bling this is where you want to go!

You've also got Garduno's in Scottsdale and Chandler, although they tend to make it "Gringo Mild" for you desert dwellers!!  There's also a Mexican restuarant on the north side of Camelback just east of the 51 I beleive.   "Dos Somethingorother..."  Decent.

But I do know of a certain HOT provider that has some Green Chile stashed in her freezer!!  Woo-Hoo. Can you say Hot Tamale??

I know the Garduno's in Chnadler changed their name, do not know if the food changed.

It's now on Encanto.....It use to be at 35th ave & McDowell next to the shopping center that burned down and a fireman died
I've been eating there since the early 70's
don't compare this to the other franchise Gracia's not comparison

Los Dos Molinos - best spicey NM chiles... old style

Barrio Cafe - Upscale / gourmet mexican... nice twist on old favorites - very cool

Best Mexican food can be found in Tucson at El Charro.... try the Carne Seca!!!
