Ladies leave the business for many different reasons. None of them are anyones business unless the lady decides to share it with everyone. Some of them are relationships, babies, getting too old, and some DO make all the money they need and move on. Some just want to be normal again. Drugs are rarely the case if someone is well known and has been around for more than a few months. My point is that this is not unlike any other job out there. It is what you make of it. We all have our reasons for leaving and asking why is as silly as asking why one of YOUR co-workers has left abruptly. It doesn't matter what kind of job you have. People quit all the time. If you are looking for juicy stories maybe you should ask for reasons why ladies have gotten into this business. There are some good ones out there Have a great week everyone Donna Jean
As a relatively infrequent hobbyist, there are many providers out there (too many) and some that retire within a year of starting out. Kara from TLC, once a very active member of this board, suddenly disappeared. Does anybody remember Sky Silverman or Darling Nikki, who were also frequent visitors on the board? Although I never got a chance to meet any of them, I do read the boards frequently, have noticed the departures, and thought I would bring up the subject. Without putting any particular stories to any particular names (generically speaking), I am curious as to what are the most common causes such SUDDEN departures. Relationships? Health problems? Drug problems? Do they have problems with stalkers? How about family members who make embarrassing discoveries? Do they meet their financial goals and simply jump out of the biz?
I can speak for Kara in that she had some family issues out of state that she needed to take care of. I still speak with her regularly (we are on our way to the Playtime Halloween party!)and am hoping that she may someday come back into the business. Sometimes girls need a break from this business, it can wear a person out, especially a popular one such as Kara. I always want what is best for my girls and sometimes taking a break is the best thing. When and if they do come back, they are refreshed and ready to shine again!
My opinion is that we all move on in some way or another in life. People change and are not the same way they once were. So now generally speaking one provider moves on to better business opportunity, then the other falls in love, maybe the next goes to preach the gospel, who knows. In the end there’s the personal reason to leave and personal reason why and you may never know the real story unless the provider gives you that info themselves. Now I don’t know the ladies mentioned above personally but assume that if they didn’t come to the board to explain themselves then why go searching for it. Although there’s several different posts here on the TER were people mention the why’s and where’s of retired providers any other information is heresay. Now Correct me if I am wrong but Kara from TLC publicly announced a goodbye on the boards when she decided to move on. Hopefully providers are remembered for all the breathtaking perma-grins and for the memories of a “one in a lifetime” GFE, not the 411 on our personal life. So no I do not think there’s a common reason, just simply moving on…

Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. I only asked because it always seemed like a dangerous profession to me, as is any job that is relegated to being "under the radar" by society.
