Having met this wonderful lady I for one am happy to see she has kicked the habit , I never have smoked but they say its right up there with heroin as far a being one of the hardest things to quit.... my Dad smoked for 40 yrs and tried several times to stop and one day at around 55 he just did it and I was so proud of him and now he is a vibrant healthy 76 .....every day I have him is a gift! I am sure your family is also blessed to have you healthy after all you are a goddess of goodness!
I quit 45 years ago. I did it gradually over 90 days. First, I couldn't smoke inside. next was the car and so on. It was hell for 6 months. Now I don't think about it.
I just quit too! At 11am today, it will be exactly one week since I kicked the habit! I went to a Hypnotherapist and it made quitting a million times easier!
I haven't made it to 15 months yet...what are some of the changes you have witnessed in/for yourself?
For me, I'm already witnessing my ability to breathe increase, which mean more stamina for the fun stuff in life...like playing with boys!
Keep up the good work, both of ya!!! It is not easy.

I personally took chantix for the first month and needed it no more after that.
Things taste much better... Don't need to use salt on pretty much everything no more. Breath is much better, can hike further as well as it smelling better. Everything on the whole is better
Whenever I felt the urge, I would distract myself in some shape or form, I also had plenty alternatives for the oral fixation
*hugs*

in the interest of actually getting some dialog on this board continuing...
I quit in 1969 after 30 years of a 3 pack a day Marlboro habit... took the aid of Zyban to get the job done and i hated the impact the drug had on my brain but it was worth it to get the monkey off my back..
The first thing i noticed was the return of my sense of smell and was amazed at how many truly foul odors exist in the world
and to keep this post related... the money I save by not smoking goes into my piggy bank to be spent lavishly on the ladies...
