Just some thoughts...

So one of my favorite providers was ignoring me for months and hadn't heard about any tours she was doing. She got ahold of me finally and told me she's retiring. And now, it sucks! I'm unable to see her for one last hurrah. But as of now, I'm pretty much exhausted of the hobby and sadden by how many of my faves aren't around anymore. Just wondering if anyone else has felt like I have. Anyways just wanna know if anyone else has taken a break from the hobby?

I know deep down I need a traditional relationship, someone that actually gives 2 sh*ts about my health and well-being so I join one of the popular dating sites, give a few girls a try and take several months off from the hobby and then I get discouraged about the ladies in the valley I meet and end up hobbying again.

I've been through retirement with favorites before. Nothing you can really do about it. You just have to move on and not dwell about it.  The thing about the Valley of the Sun, it seems like there's a never ending talent pool of new providers getting into the hobby.  Check the "new" Phoenix reviews today,  for a  provider who looks like she's got a lot of potential.

Remember many providers will come out of retirement, just had it happen to me where a Phoenix fav of mine was retired for almost 2 years resurfaced in So. Ca.

I've taken a break from hobbying, for many reasons, but it seems like I always wonder back.

That is correct, H Hills. I think it is like fishing or hunting, you have to work at it to locate a person of interest and read their reviews. Moreover, read their posts and talk to them every opportunity you have. I have found that most fellow hobbyist are usually honest and helpful.

Just like some providers retire/take breaks so do some hobbyists..

As a provider I definitely have my favorites who have taken breaks, but there just isn't much that I can do..

When you let the hobby consume any of your time that isn't hobby time that's a risk that you have to take. And we all do it. I don't care who says they don't, it's a lie. We're human.

That being said, this is my first post on the Phoenix board. I just moved back to Vegas and had an awesome time with a Phoenix local (cough cough) so I'm thinking about crossing back and forth between the two!

:)

Look at this as a time to find a new temporary potential ATF. Sometimes I feel that we can limit ourselves when we make things our favorites. Be it a person, a place, a thing, etc. Unless we're talking about sushi.. Well, there is just no better food! :)

It helps to hear from like minded people. Maybe I just invested too much emotions into the hobby. It was hard not to, but I learn from every experience. It's just at the point where I want quality over quantity. But I don't have the funds to continue like I use too. So maybe after all this, I'll be wining and dining with many providers. For now, it's just a break. And it was nice to from you alyssainnewyork. And thanks for the replies again.

Damn, sounds just like what I've been doing!

I sure wish those sites would have reviews like here!  It really would save a lot of time!  I hate having to go out on a few dates, have a few late, long phone conversations - and then find out she doesn't swallow and thinks that a 'trip to Greece' involves getting a passport!   Frustrating!!

Many of us need a little break from time to time!  There will always be a welcome wagon here if you choose to come back. Even though there may be some new faces, these boards are like Cheers.   It's nice to have friends that share our little secrets.  There is an openness that we share here that is sometimes hard to share with our friends in the real world. I have friends that confide in me when they don't feel like they have anyone else to share their thoughts.  They know that I won't judge them and that I am around to lend support. Hopefully, in most of your experiences, you have made some friends. Warmest regards!

Thanks, that made my day...Lol....

While you can get "lucky" on some of the dating sites, I think in the end it costs more both psychologically and emotionally. I think I'll stick to hobbying for now.
