A rated traveler flaked

Had a confirmed appointment with A rated traveling provider cancel on me with out warning when she knew 72 hrs in advance the location and blamed it on the 3 star instead of 5 star hotel quality which was never stipulated by here.
Shen did have a published client cancellation policy that I did not violate.
I know that this happens, usually not to me, but should I be concerned about retribution from her?

Booking less than a 5 star hotel is grounds for retribution against someone. It’s unfortunate this happened, but it isn’t unheard of. If she felt she wouldn’t have enjoyed being with someone who didn’t book a 5 star hotel, you’re better off spending that money on someone else. Nothing worse that spending time with someone who isn’t happy to be there. No one is going to have much fun in a situation like that.

I have no problem booking a 3 star hotel for a play date. There are so many nice hotels rated 3 stars with room rates up to $350 a night. Most companies won’t reimburse a high cost hotels for business travel, so maybe she’s used to seeing millionaires? Personally, I prefer seeing providers who offer in-call because it is easier all around.

I had some very good times at a hotel on the I-17 where it goes East/West by the South Phoenix border area.

Does her website say must be 4 star or better that is first question. Even if intent is good, if she has a rule and you want see her then you must follow rule. If she has a rule you cant deal with then just don't schedule.

If she does not say on website and or advertisement must have a 4 star or better then her loss. You should not worry about small thing like this as reason to get a retribution. More than likely she got a better offer and sadly ditch you for the better offer. Providers that are traveling always try maximize income. Not saying she did, not saying all do, but saying it does happen.

Finally do a little research. Look is she actually continue to come to your area. Or did she post different schedule else where. Maybe she did not get enough appointment to come and decide easier to find reason to cancel than just admit she not popular enough to book a visit. Check her website calendar, check her local ad posts, see if something changed.

Just few thoughts

Christine

When I achieve the American Dream and purchase a van one day, I am going to give it a 4 star accommodation rating and put a bed in the back after taking out all the seats.

... here in Phoenix and renting a room solely to entertain your lady, that's too much to spend, IMO.

I've been checking the Phoenix hotel rates for my upcoming visits and note that the Winter & Spring rates are more than double the Summer rates at the places where I like to stay. So, now you're out the cost of your hotel room. That sucks, man.  :(

As I drink coffee I took moment to look.

If you go to internet and look up very well know 4 star chain and and book room in Scottsdale next Saturday one week notice the room is listed on THEIR website as 269.00. If you look at same chain but in North or west Phoenix same hotel chain is 189.00.

Phoenix metro is not cheap this time year. If you narrow it to Scottsdale even more expensive. Compare to other cities its not as expensive like NY or LA maybe, but for sure its expensive for short date.I did not look for discount rooms nor coupons nor discount booking sites, just wanted see difference between smae-same Scottsdale not Scottsdale.

Just observation

Thanks to all, I came to the same conclusion, but I also double booked earlier in the day with a knockout, friend so not a total loss.
