My writing is like an orgasm, coming in spurts. I'll churn out a ton of stuff over a few hours or a few days, then nothing for a week. Biorhythms? Maybe. Probably more stress related. I've been angry at the world since last Thursday due to something that happened at work and I've been brain dumping since.

It's strange, because the same stress that leads to the orgasmic writing also leads to strange dreams. Last night I had a dream about a woman I haven't seen in years. The dream was very vivid, very sexual and left me with an incredible erection this morning, which had to be relieved before getting up. If I was younger, I'm sure the dream would have been a wet one. Instead, a wet awakening, cumming in spurts.

Isn't it funny how that happens? I find that it's much easier for me to be creative when I'm upset or very angry. Things just flow. However, I get seriously writer's block when I'm in a really good mood. Do you suppose that's the way it is for comics, too? They say all comics/comediennes are depressed, maybe that's why.

In any case, I still have great nocturnal orgasms but I can never remember the dreams that prompt them. In fact, I swear I think I have harder, better orgasms when my concious is asleep. Maybe that's because I'm an over-analyzer, hell who knows?

In any case, I hope your week gets better, I hope work lightens up on your mind and congratulations on your flag-flying dream!

For me it is just the opposite, although I wouldn’t lay claim to any writing talents.  I’m referring more traditional artistic endeavors i.e. drawing and sculpting.  Frustration will shut down any productivity and I’m most fruitful when in a good mood.  But I can relate to the sporadic nature creativity.  In school it always puzzled me to receive assignments in the arts.  Inspiration simply doesn’t work that way.  I have had an interesting dream or two...  hmmm, now were did I leave that sketch pad?  

After working for newspapers for years I can sit down and force pen to paper very easily now. The question is, "Do I want to write?"  Yes, but theatre calls to me at the moment.
