Probably not unlike those of you reading this, for years I have read complaints about “TER’s Phony Reviews.” Yet in all these years I have been unaware of a bonafide (“Proven”) “Phony Review,” until now. Oh sure, I have read Reviews that I found difficult if not impossible to believe, but NEVER had any proof that a Review was indeed Phony.
Also, like many of you, I rely on Reviews to separate Ladies into two groups. “Wanna see’s” and “Will NOT be seeing.” Obviously, “Phony Reviews” can have a significant impact on that process.
It seems there can be any of three different “Authors” of “Phony Reviews:”
1. A Hobbyist and Provider in concert to produce a Review of a Lady that somehow serves
each.
2. A Provider writing either her own Review or a Review of another Provider, for whatever
her reasons are.
3. A Hobbyist writing a Review of a Lady he has never actually seen, for whatever his
reasons may be.
One would make the assumption that the easiest to guard against and uncover is #3, as the Reviewed Provider will likely enter a complaint via a “Problem Report” and TER’s thorough investigation would route out the perpetrator and TER would disallow the “Phony Review,” having it removed from the lady’s Profile. That was indeed the process in the past, but apparently no more.
As an extreme example of the change in TER’s desire to root out “Phony Reviews,” there is a local Phoenix Reviewer with ten or more Published Reviews and it has recently been discovered that seven of the Ladies he has Reviewed are unwilling to verify that Reviewer because they claim to have never seen him. This Reviewer is NOT stupid, he has made each of the “Phony Reviews” fairly flattering and not out of line with other Reviews the Lady has received. When the fact of his multiple “Phony Reviews” was reported to TER, by one of those Reviewed Ladies, essentially she was told that she would be required to PROVE THAT SHE HADN’T ACTUALLY SEEN THE REVIEWER. Not only that, TER went so far as to require her to communicate with that Reviewer. Is this outrageous or what?
It seems that Providers are really the first line of defense against “Phony Reviews,”” but TER’s requirement of them (apparently newly developed by new Ownership and New Management) to prove that they did NOT see The Reviewer, is not only outrageous but unreasonable and fairly impossible.
It seems that TER needs to Review not only its willingness to find and root out “Phony Reviews,” but its process for fairly investigating those claims made by Providers. It is in ALL of our best interests for them to do so
