I recently used one of the famous agencies in this area; I had to use my credit card and I was assured that the name that appears on the bill will be innocuous. Unfortunately, along with the name appears a 602-area code telephone number on the bill item description. I have not tried to call the number yet to find out what answer I get. So far, the bill is just online and I am frantically trying to figure out a way to cancel the printed bill. How can this agency do this? Please help! I hope I am safe!

Thanks....

afaik every credit transaction includes a contact number i would call them and ask them to reverse the charge. Or change my billing address to a post office box.

Why would you have him reverse the charge? He received a service and should pay for that service. If I misunderstood what you wrote I aoplogize but it sounds like you want him to stiff the girl or agency in question instead of just calling them and asking them what the number is to.

and see what you get. Your not the 1st 5th or 100th person they've delt with on this issue. More than likely the # leads to a correspondingly innoucuous voicemail:). It sounds like your worried about the bill being scrutinized in which case your explanation for the $ amount is going to be more important then what # is on the bill. If you "frontloaded" the info...."jeez honey I took so & so to dinner"...."$400 bucks!!!" I sure hope I get some business out of it.....or some such....then if question comes up....its easy to say that must be the charge for that dinner I told you about.....

I'm sure if you speak to the owner of the agency or even email them directly you will not be turned down.  It is probably all just a misunderstanding..  Also try calling your credit card co. & ask bout  viewing statements online                 ( if worried cause significant other might find : )

Good luck!

Being in the transactions business (credit card that is), once a purchase is posted the the account, any future changes by the merchant would post as offsets to the original charge.  As a side note, the receipt you obtain from the business may not always be the same as what appears on the credit card statement.  There are three parts, the purchase (at the location), the settlement (what the merchant's bank sends to your credit card company) and finally, the posting to your credit card.  The only way to stop a transaction is prior to it being sent to your credit card company.  If this is indeed a number for the agency, what I would recommend is giving the agency cash and having them issue a credit to the credit card.  This way, the you can always say that the original looks like a mistake because "they" issued a credit a few days later.

Also, I'd suggest that the agency work with their processor to identify what is in the settlement records and make it something innocuous.

I called the number that the billing lists; it goes to a FAX no. unanswered; is this really a reputed agency?

An anonymous fax tone that can't spill the beans for you or someone on the other end answering "Escort service"?

I assumed from your earlier post you were concerned that there was a contact number, presumably because someone else might see the charge on your bill and find out you went hobbying on the card.

Seems to me if all you get is a fax line when you call the number, you're in the clear in that regard. You can make up any story you like, and if someone checks, dead end fax tone. End of story.

So what's the problem now?
I must not get it.
