today I received an email from her asking for assistance in $$$ because she was robbed in the Phillipines. I'm just a hobbyist so please  Whoever knows her better than I,  confirm this, hoax, stolen email,   I am being serious, please no wise ass remarks.  tks for any information

Do NOT believe them, do NOT send money.
It is a scam I am sure. I don't know her personally but I know of other ladies who had similar emails sent out after their email was hacked.

Hell, i got the same email and i was pretty sure it was a hacked account even though i know she likes going down into that area.

I recieved the same email. I tried contacting her late last night thru the usual and have not received response. I have heard of this same exact plea for assistance on the news, seems to be quite common. Though I am sure it is a hoax using her hacked email I was concerned as well.

I am NOT in the Phillipines.  I don't even know where it is!!!  Please ignore/disregard any e-mails received between 10 AM and noon from me.  

Yesterday for an hour they must have hacked my e-mail password and then used an e-mail where they switched the M in [email protected] to the letters r and n so they were able to send out e-mails from [email protected] after I changed my password.

I had a very very difficult random letter and number random password so I am not sure how they even guessed it but my account was RANDOMLY hacked by people/scammers in the Philllipines.  

kara returned my phone call and told me it was hacked email account. She apologized to me for the inconvience.

"I'd love to help you out. After all, we've been such close friends for so many years now. I don't think that $1,650 will get you and your family very far though. I could lend you $25,000 if you'd like.

My email reply to them came back to me as undeliverable. I've seen this scam and it's variations before. Unbelievably, some suckers actually fall for it.  

OBVIOUSLY her account was hacked.  I had seen her the day before this email went out.  She had nothing to do with it and those who sent money without calling her first or doing some internet research, I feel bad for but don't take it out on her.
