References are to stay safe, it has to be that way and is unfair to compare it to reviews when it comes to a ladies safety. You guys do deserve to be able to research and make sure you're safe also, but think about it, when you first started this hobby and had no references, SOMEONE somewhere took the chance on seeing you.
