I have a restaurant question:
Has anyone been to "A Different Point of View at Point Hilton, Tapatio Cliffs Resort" Phoenix or Top of the Rock, The Buttes in Tempe???

I have two young ladies (one 20 and one 18) that are just good friends that I want to treat to a special night out. Views are important, I been to see (but not eaten) at Top of the Rock but have never been to Different Point of View.

Any thoughts??

TIA,
Bordello

Top of the rock is very good, also so is Rustlers Roost at Pointe south mountain.

The Compass Restaurant is nice, and has very good food. It's on top of the Hyatt Regency, and it rotates.

While I didn't mention the Compass, I have been looking at it.  I come from S.F. and used to go to the Hyatt for a drink and enjoyed the turning  restaurant.

Thanks for brinning it up. It is also in consideration.

Bordello

The view is of the entire valley looking north, totaly unobstructed, you can ask to sit right on the window looking north....

you will be looking North, East, South, West, and then North again. I think it takes about an hour for one complete revolution.

I'd go out to the Boulders North of Scottsdale, http://www.theboulders.com/

or, for a fun, interesting and surprisingly intimate evening, I'd go to El Chorro at 56th and Lincoln in PV, and eat outside.  In addition to a wonderful desert dining experience, the food is damned good and every meal is served with "sticky buns."
