Would a provider be interested in meeting a prospective local client for lunch/coffee before the first "date".  Client would buy, of course.

It would seem to eliminate some of the apprehension by both parties and certainly foster a good working relationship.  On the other hand, I could also lead to the "wrong idea" among some clients.  Also time is money.  There used to be a provider that kinda did that.

I've met prospective clients a couple of times for a quick drink, and I wouldn't do it again unless there was a compelling reason to do so.

In both cases, I spent time getting ready and looking nice, driving to the club or restaurant, spending an hour with the gentleman and then driving home.  We're talking 2-3 hours here--the same amont of time I would have spent on a (paying) hotel outcall visit.

Of the two occasions, one man made an appointment, the other I never heard from again.

So, I decided it was not worth my time to have the "audition" meeting.

I'll be curious to see what the other ladies say.

A very interesting question....

Personally I've never felt the need to go that route...but then again I'm pretty dialed in (helps to have alot of friends on both sides)

I'd think it would vary greatly but no way a lady could make it "SOP" so I'd say highly unlikely...

I don't know if this is still her MO but one well known provider insisted on a first meeting in a public place as a safety precaution for herself.

I think that's a safe way to go, for a provider, if the prospective client does not have adequate references and she cares enough to spend her time to both, protect herself and also make an impression on the prospect.

That's marketing, ladies and gentlemen. That's the real world. If you invest the time you have a better chance to get the worm, so to speak.

This would not apply to the ladies who are so busy that they have to have an assistant screen their calls.
