This is the first in a series of questions I've wondered about, and would like to hear from the community.  Some of my questions are best-answered by providers, others by hobbyists, and others by everybody.  Many of my questions will elicit personal (and possibly even deep) stuff, hence I welcome the use of aliases.  Here goes...

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE
Tell us about any experiences you've had where the people in the "other" side of your life found out (or nearly so) about your work/hobbying.  How did you handle it?

Did you ever consider quitting because of that experience?  Why or why not?  What would you give up in your life to continue working/hobbying?

I always appreciated the fact that she was proud of who she is and what profession she chose.  I personally was caught from a brother who lived out of state.  I did not hide the truth either..I explained to him that there were many aspects to me.  I was an escort yes, but I am also a good mother, involved with my childs school, warm hearted and a good friend.  If I am going to be judged by those that don't think outside of the box...I personally will choose not to have them in my life.  Now, I have retired. I did choose that decision, not because I felt it was morally the wrong profession.  Monogamy is still the desired "norm" and although I don't need to live by all the conventional ways, I will in fact respect it, if it suits me.  We make decisions in our life that need to work for us.  I refuse to live my life as robot to society.

Unfortunately, for me, being in the complete limelight is not an option. It would mean my other career - well, at least for now. I think it's great that Mya is open about it, but some of us cannot be for certain reasons. But, hey!  More power to you girl. I think it's great!

Hugs,
Ciara

However, when I started doing this, I told everyone in my life about it. My mother, father, son's father, friends, everyone. The reason I did that was because I didn't want anyone finding out from a newspaper or reporter or a cop if something ever happened to me.

When I quit the business for good, it will be for good and I will wash my hands clean of my history and go back to civilian life. I wouldn't give anything up to continue this. If I felt I had to give something up to continue doing this, I wouldn't be here.

My sisters are great supporters and try to nickel and dime me every change they get.
