Halloween? Humbug

First Christmas now Halloween.  The old saying "wisdom come's with age", is a toss up on this one.  I wised up pretty young about Christmas but it took me much longer to say goodbye to Halloween.  Now there is a big difference in how I neglect each holiday.  I approach Christmas two ways: boycott the tradition and Christmas gore.  To my delight over the years I have found others have shared my interest in new age Christmas gore.  Sadly with Halloween I find there is just no longer any interest.  Maybe I lost the thrill because everyone's doing it and transferred it to Christmas?

When I was a kid I loved Halloween.  Now, as an adult, I am kind of amazed at other adults who go overboard with costumes and such.  I smile at the little kids and am glad they enjoy it. But adults celebrating this "holiday?"    Bah, humbug.

My worst fears from youth have been realized:  I've grown up and matured into a humorless old fart.  *sobs*

but I've yet to lose my humor.  Maybe next year I will decorate the my house and yard in the Christmas spirit when Halloween U.S.A. opens shop.  Then about a week after Halloween take all the xmas decorations down and put up the Halloween decorations until about 2 weeks after Jan. 1st.
