Is there a candy that reminds you of your childhood?  Or that special guy or gal? Or even your first time?

I discovered this store at the NW corner of Alma School and Chandler in Chandler called Sweeties Candy that carries nostalgic candies. It is huge - 5,000 square feet of sugar.  (I thought Fascinations was a big store but this is a different type of sweet.) :)

So if you were a kid in a candy store once again what would be your favorite?

M&M's come to mind....melt in your mouth not in your hand!!!

Mostly the stick, which I am now convinced was slightly sweetened chalk.

I use to find it in my Grandfathers glove compartment of his pickup.  I always thought it was there for us kids but years later I found out he use to eat a couple pieces on his way home from work to cover up the
smell of smoke on his breath.  He told grandma he had quit years before but still smoked at work or anytime he could get away.  I also found out Grandma knew all along he continued to smoke but played dumb figuring if he knew she knew then he wouldn't hide it from her any longer and just end up smoking more.  Smart lady... she was full of little tips and tricks...

Reminds me of the one she would tell any new woman that married into the family because we all loved fishing most of the families have Cabins on lakes (including me) she would tell them never learn to clean fish and if you do learn never tell a sole or the guys will except you to clean and cook them both.  However my mother took it a step further she didn't like going to the cabin anyway she had a fear of water so for her to come along dad had to agree all the cooking and cleaning would be done by him and the kids.  So she could enjoy the time off as we enjoyed the lake.

Sugar Daddy which led to Sugar Babies:

"Sugar Daddy was invented in 1925 by a chocolate salesman named Robert Welch at the James O. Welch Company. Sugar Daddy was originally called the Papa Sucker. The name was changed to Sugar Daddy in 1932. Sugar Babies were introduced three years later, in 1935."

Both really stuck to you teeth as you ate them.  Just sayin' .....

Chewed it while playing baseball growing up. The adults didn't want the kids using chewing tobacco.
By the way if you want to see a candy store to end all candy store, check out this place. It's across the street from Bloomingdales in New York, it's owned by Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan

I too was impressed by Sweetie's selection of classic candy...

Though on a 'no-sugar' diet.... I did buy one of the 'cherry bombs' giant
chocolate covered cherry things.. loved em as a kid !!   Thanks !

So far everything everyone mentioned here is at that candy store in Chandler - Sweeties.  So with the holidays, it would be a wonderful gift to a loved one to help them relive their childhood memories by getting them their favorite candy - and this includes your ATF provider too I am sure.

Check out the place and relive those memories as BF and I already have.
