In an effort to help empty Arizona Humane Society kennels, the organization will waive adoption fees on all animals in lieu of a monetary donation this weekend. The adoption special will run Saturday and Sunday (August 28 and 29) and is valid at all AHS locations.

To take save a life this weekend, visit either AHS’ Sunnyslope Facility (9226 North 13th Avenue, Phoenix) or Campus for Compassion (1521 West Dobbins Road, Phoenix) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. August 28 - 29. Additional adoption locations include Petique at 24th Street and Camelback and inside Valley-area PetSmart stores. A two pet per household limit will be in effect for this adoption special. No rainchecks will be offered.  All adopters must meet certain requirements and undergo an adoption screening to ensure a good fit for the pets. For more information, please visit www.azhumane.org.

So if you have room in your heart and home, please go adopt a new friend.

I was on the phone with the airline, before I read the whole message.

I've booked my flight and I don't want to have to just go golfing.

But 2 dogs + 3 cats I may be pushing my luck.
Maybe I'll just go and make a donation and try to walk away without another furry friend...

If more people would spayed or nuter their pets, nice people like you would not have to have 5 pets! for every 100 good pet owners.... why is it I always see the jack...(butt) who lets his dog unleashed in th back of the truck driving down the road weaving from lane to lane with the dog sliding from side to side!   I'd like to once see someone get stopped and then have them get put in the back of the truck and have the pet drive away!!!!

Side in the back of the pick up truck, especially on the motorways! What if they fell out or even jumped out in the busy traffic.... Grrr they get me wound up.

It also doesn't cost that much for people to spay/neuter their pets, In fact there are plenty of organizations out there that will do it for low cost or for free. (Mine are all spayed & Neutered)

If you need to get your cat/dog spayed/neutered in Phoenix then google Altered Tails. They are a great place here in Phoenix, just make sure to give them a good donation on top of the very low price they already charge you.

I also just got done reading about a wonderful man in FL. Check out his Cat Caboodle Ranch, I did and already donated food to his ranch. Reading his story left me all warm and fuzzy inside :)
