I'm not sure why you posted your PM to the board,  but since you did...my thoughts were, "Why should I waste board space with 'thinking of smart topics and replies that contain references to my current visit to LA' when I could've wasted a lot less space with pointless messages and just said, what I did which was I'm here, I still have time available, call or email."

It's moot. I'm going home Sunday and I've done fine. I'll find other places to advertise my trips in the future. It's not a big deal. I was worried, frustrated and upset Monday. It's now Friday, I'm over it. I know what I need to do.

Megan

I have been in three cities in the last week and when I got to San Diego, I posted to let people know I had arrived as scheduled and still had time available. Girl Next Door removed it, placed me on moderated status and sent a PM telling me only 1 ad per week. You lifted my moderated status, which I appreciated.

Today I arrived in Los Angeles, posted (Today is a new week, Monday) to let the Los Angeles community know that I had arrived and still had time available and to contact me for an appointment if interested. A friend of mine called me while I was en route to let me know it had been removed. Now, I'm moderated again.

I'm just about in tears here. No, actually I am in tears. I don't advertise on Eros or Cityvibe or Exotics or anywhere else. My only avenue for advertising is here on these boards because I love this community and the men and women who occupy it. I don't know what to do. I've tried sending Girl Next Door email but she doesn't respond to it and I had another lady PM me today stating that the same happened with her and that she'd sent several messages to GND and she never responded to this lady either. I don't know what to do.

This is it for my advertising. What do I do if I'm in multiple cities in the same 7-day period?  Wouldn't the fact that it is Monday, a new week, merit that I'm able to post my arrival and availability on the Los Angeles board since in the last 7 days the only other post I made about availability was in San Diego where it was removed immediately?  I don't know what to do. I'm an outstanding member of this community, I don't trash the community or anyone in it, I think I am a positive contributor to this board, the escort community as a whole and to the hobbyists. I'm just very frustrated and upset because I feel like I'm trying to do everything right and I'm having these roadblocks thrown up and it's really hurting my business. Please help me if you can, advise me, anything.

I'm sorry I keep posting it here, the entire community doesn't need to hear that I was actually in tears over this, but I've emailed staff several times through the email link over the course of the year I've been here and never gotten a response and I know that you go above and beyond and really try to help us all, so this is the only place I know to ask questions and have a 99.9% chance of actually being answered. And I appreciate that, Michael. I'm just so frustrated and upset because I'm afraid LA isn't even going to pay for itself since I can't even post that I'm here and still have availability. :(

Megan

PS Sorry for whining. It's been a tough couple of weeks for me and financially, I'm in the shitter and this hurts too. I don't expect nor do I want sympathy, just a little fairness.

TER's rule is one post per 7-days.

Not sure when your first ad was posted, so I am unsure when you can next post an ad.

Best thing you can do is have one of the guys post a carefully worded post on the LA board saying you are available and to check out your website. Make sure he doesn't mention dates or prices. That should be okay.

but honestly you need to stay within the guidelines or your just going to dinged again. Better ways for a smart gal like you to skin this cat...

We have ladies in more than one city each week.  Am I wrong in thinking that its one ad in each city each week.  I have not had the issues that Megan had and am now concerned that it may be a problem.  If she posted in SD and then in LA during the same week since its different cities that should not violate the guidelines.  Is that correct or not?  Thanks for your help.

The rule is a total of one ad per, total. If you have been doing otherwise, you have just been lucky not to be caught :)

this may be a necessary exception to the rule. I see the need to keep the discussion boards from becoming nothing but solicitations, but if a provider goes to a different city, that post will not be seen on the previous board. I would suggest changing the rule to 1 post PER CITY per 7 days.

Thank you Michael for that clarification.  I would suggest that a rule change be in order for those agencies that have ladies that tour.  I regularly see the Florida and Canada agencies posting in several cities all in the same week.  Is that possible for consdieration?  Thanks again for all you do.

Check out the link below.  Look under the paragraph
titled When?

Email GND on this for clarification if you want.

I can understand why such a rule was instituted in the first place: to prevent someone from spamming the boards. However, it seems a bit much to say that's one ad per week over all boards. All Megan did was place an ad in each city as she arrived there. I'd hardly call that spamming or abusive.

Maybe the powers-that-be can consider amending the rule?

Thank you to everyone who posted on my behalf in LA. It seems they've all been removed, but I had a hobbyist here in Los Angeles call to tell me that you guys did post. I appreciate it. I don't mean to be whiny, I'm just financially frustrated after the boy being home for a month and not working and not being able to get the word out that I am here. I'll be fine, everything always works out in the end.

Love to you all,

Megan

PS The showing on the LA board and the support here is exactly the reason why I only advertise on TER and nowhere else. Where else would I find such quality gentlemen to offer me companionship when I'm lonely in a strange city?

I agree with bifur.  It sure may help me in the future as I travel to various cities.  If I am in LA or SD why can't a lady place one add per city especially if they are in that city.

Thank you for the clarification, GND did message me back and basically stated in not so many words that if I could creatively find a way to let people know I'm in LA without specifically advertising, it'd remain. Seems like an awful lot of hoops and it seems like it would cause more posting that isn't "necessary" to get the point across indirectly.

May I ask you to lift my moderated status one more time? If I wind up under moderated status again, I won't ask you to ever lift it again. I am sorry for all the aggravation, I am stressed beyond belief and I'm not also embarassed as hell about what I posted last night. Double whammy. I'm sure I look like a whiny little provider brat, and that's incredibly embarassing.

Regardless of your decision, thank you for addressing the issue and trying to always help. It is always appreciated more than you know.

Obviously its a serious issue for the LA moderator...

Although the reviews, if TER determines they are acceptable, are wonderful, all other rules on the boards are asanine.  I would suggest you find another venu to advertise your tours, eros is what I watch for visiting providers.

Trashy:

Thanks for the suggestion. I enjoy these boards and I enjoy the clients I meet advertising on these boards, but I suppose you are right, I will need to look into further advertising avenues. It doesn't mean I'll stop advertising here, it just means I'll need to supplement.

The board has rules for a reason and I understand and respect those reasons. I just wish this unfortunate situation hadn't taken place the way it did. I didn't follow the rules and they took the proper action. I accept that. I guess the next step is what has been mentioned; can the rules be changed to one ad post per week, per city for traveling providers? We'll see what happens.

In the meantime, it means a lot to me what many of you have tried to do for me over there. I think I'm more touched that any of you care at all than about the rest of it. I shouldn't be surprised after watching you all rally around Manae. Thank you.

You posted in SD on 8/2.  Here's the link:
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=34670&boardID=7&page=2
The earliest ad you could have posted again would have been be on 8/9.

You also posted in LA on 8/3.  Here's the link:
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=152515&boardID=1&page=5
The earliest ad you could have posted would have been on 8/10.

Since both of the ads are still up, I'm quite
sure GND was enforcing the one ad per week per
board rule.  Not a one ad per week for all boards.

Hope that helps.

Providers may post 1 ad per week (any 7-day period).
When touring, they may *also* post 1 ad per week on the board for the city they will be visiting to announce their visit.

I just found out last night about this thread.

I stayed up more than an hour extra Monday night when I really wanted to go to bed, writing a long reply to your questions about ad-posting rules and offering you suggestions.  I went well beyond what I usually write, trying to help you out as much as I could.

RE: My posts, etc.

Megan,

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a difficult time lately. You sound like a nice woman, and I am not trying to make things more difficult for you.

The problem is that providers are allowed to post one ad per _seven days_ per board (each regional board for the area they are servicing).  That's once per seven days, not once per calendar week (Sunday through Saturday).

You have an ad posted on the San Diego board that is dated 8/2, so you needed to wait until 8/9 to post another ad on that board.  You have an ad on the L.A. board dated 8/3 (with  706 reads!), so you need to wait until 8/11 [should be 8/10; I was really sleepy] to post another one there.

It has been TER policy to limit the ads for some time, because they were interfering with the discussion on some boards, and people were complaining about it.  And I have to be consistent about the advertising time limits, or else I get complaints and accused of favoritism by other ladies and their gentleman friends.

By participating in discussions on the boards, as you are doing, you can keep getting your link up on the board.  You sound like an intelligent lady, and I imagine you can think of smart topics and replies that perhaps contain references to your current visit to L.A.  :-)  I hope that helps a little.

I wish you a much better time this week in L.A. and good luck.

Take care,
Girl Next Door

P.S.
You can add you link to your posts on the boards.  It doesn't need to be an ad for you to include your link.

Would you like your TER reviews automatically attached to your posts, like NOSC's are?  Staff can do that for you.  You can write to him directly at [email protected] , and I would be happy to forward your request to him, as well, and try to help expedite it, because I know time is of the essence for you right now.

I hope all that makes sense.  I'm super-sleepy.
