Wayman Tisdale was not only a great basketball player, including his time here with the Suns, but also a fabulous jazz musician, In fact, I was looking forward to his concert here next month.

He had been fighting cancer and had his leg amputated below the knee back in August but remained very positive.  I even had the pleasure of meeting him and his family a couple of years ago and this man always had a smile on his face.  He was always so nice, enjoyed meeting people and playing his music.   He will truly be missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Rest in peace Wayman and God bless you.

Here in his home town, Tulsa, the outpouting of sympathy for the family is incredibile.  The funeral service has been scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 AM at a 18,000 seat arena where  it will be standing room only.  He was a great individual and greatly loved by all here, and the thing that most people remember about him is that smile that was always there, even thru this battle with cancer.  God Bless Wayman and his family!
