I would recommend gmail.  I am a huge fan of archiving everything and using the search function to find any email I need.

Its the best email to have if you ever get a droid.  Everything from your calendar to contacts and emails always sync with your phone.  The ability to search my SENT emails from my phone to forward something has saved me several trips back to a computer while I have been out!

Have not used yahoo in years or ever used hushmail, so it they have some of the same functionality now.

Anyways, just my two cents...

i tried gmail...i have a yahoo account for years and a hotmail account for years. all free, no problems, i swear by hotmail. never had any issues, it saves all my incoming and outgoing mail till i decide to delete and if i mark something as spam, it stays spam, if it doesn't know, it asks me. good luck.

Did you give your Yahoo PASSWORD to Facebook? I would make sure my PC is secure by having up-to-date security software and scanning it for viruses and other malware. When you're sure your PC is reasonably secure (you can never be sure), change your Yahoo password. Don't enter the new Yahoo password anywhere except Yahoo.

I don't see why a compromised Facebook account would compromise your Yahoo account, unless you've used some sort of "convenient" feature of Facebook that checks your Yahoo mail. Otherwise, Facebook shouldn't have any reach into your Yahoo account since it has no knowledge of the Yahoo password. I don't use Facebook, myself.

Anyone can forge an email header to make it look like an email was sent from your Yahoo account, but, that can be done with any email address, and does not mean they have access to your Yahoo account.

Don't think anything is 100% secure. I've seen some slightly suspicious stuff with Yahoo, but, I continue to use it.

Several years ago I had accounts on yahoo, hotmail, and a  beermail account.  I've settled on gmail and have had no issues.  Initially, you have to "train it", sorta like potty training, but I currently get very little spam anymore.  All email servers have varying degrees of effective filters.  I honestly don't know if one is far superior over another.  Maybe a knowledgeable geek will chime in.

Now I checked and I didn't get an email from your hushmail account....sooooooo, LOL!

I am thinking gmail.  I have noticed that my hushmail, which I've had for over six years, has a TON of spam going in some of which uses my own email addy.

No, I did not have the same password as my fb account, just utilized the email addy.  It kind of freaked me out, until I realized how common hacking into someone's fb account is.  I had already switched everything over in the interim.

I do appreciate the information.   I do love Android phones, and the email sync is so wonderful... but can be kind of damaging as well... so many things to think about in this technological craze we live in..
