I had this on my webpage for a few days, and a bunch of folks said they found it interesting and informative, so I thought I might post it here...

I just woke from a nap, and my phone is beeping to let me know I missed calls. I feel so bad - guilty actually that I wasn't able to answer the phone for whoever called. Most of the messages are in reference to a special for today that I posted this morning at about 7 am. I fell asleep at about 3 o'clock. I tell myself it's ok, that I shouldn't feel so bad because I had done my best to please, and the fella's that I hooked up with between 730 and 230 that day left with smiles on their faces. I tell myself that I'm only human and I won't ever be able to make everyone happy.


When I post a special, things explode, and here's a loose time-line so that maybe you can understand why I'm not able to return some of the calls I get.

6:30-7am: Composing and posting message to bulletin board.

7:05 Phone rings, I answer and set up 1st appt for 7:40. Call waiting goes off 3 times while hammering out details for appt with initial caller.

7:10 Call voice mail, writing down numbers to call back, only one caller tells me a somewhat specific time that he would like to see me, the other messages are open ended call-me-back requests.
Call waiting goes off 2 more times as I check msgs.

7:15 Call back fella who named a time, set up appt for 8:45. Call waiting beep still going off, more messages to check - but - I have to freshen up and dress for my 7:40 visitor

7:17 One of my bestest regulars calls wanting a long lunch with me, I set up appt for 12 noon until 130 ish - log online and update my posting to say that lunchtime is taken.

7:20-7:35 Phone put on silent as I take a quick shower, freshen my makeup, straighten my night table a bit, try to catch a smoke, and assist my old dog into my bathroom (that's where he stays while I have visitors)

7:38 Fella calls from lot for apt number
7:40 Answer door and spend quality time with my fella.

8:10 ish am Walk fella to the door say goodbye. Back to bedroom, letting dog out of BR on my way, check phone, first making sure there is no missed call from my 8:45 telling me he's cancelling (there isn't one - we're still on). Have missed 7 calls while in session

8:20 Call into voice mail, mailbox is full, listen to a couple of messages. Call one who requested early in the day and set up appt for 930

8:25 - 8:40 Washing some of my hair (somehow it got sticky) In shower with handheld to quick soap up and freshen up the fun parts for next visitor. Inhaling a ciggarette as fast as I can, fixing makeup, setting up for visit, dog back in his spot.

8:45- 9:05 Entertaining my newest sweetie, who dashes off to work (satisfied) before his 30 mins are up.

9:16-9:30 Doing the freshen up thing again, Glare at phone as it wiggles and flashes at me - I know that the calls should be slowing down as my message falls further down the bulletin board

9:30-10 Having a good time with a new freind. A good hard time...

10:05 Sitting down, breathing, petting my cat, enjoying a smoke, a short break before calling back into voice mail.

10:15-10:30 reviewing msgs, call waiting goes off once and I'm able to click over and answer.

10:30-10:35 speaking with caller trying to determine if he wants an appointment. He asks several times about what I would wear, and once he asks about what kind of shoes I'd have on I am certain that he has no intention of meeting me and only wants to sit home yanking his meat and hearing women describe what they wear. I hang up, wondering why the call I actually answer has to be an idiot.

10:36-10:45 back to voice mail, copying down numbers, noting if any callers have requested specific times.

10:46 - 11:00 Call 2 fellas, set up an appt for 2pm with one and the other has missed his window of opportunity and will try me another time.

11:01- 11:30 Hunger! Go get some drive thru eats, bring home and eat.

11:30-12 noon Brush teeth, shower (just the bod), Fix and fluff hair, freshen makeup, find outfit that my regular likes, wrangle the dog again,

12 noon - 1:40 Lavishing attention on my special friend

1:41 - 2 The freshen up thing again,

2 - 2:30 Another new friend, another fun time

2:35 Saying goodbye - realizing that it's almost 3 and damn I'm kinda tired, listen to voice mail and feel bad about the calls I couldn't - or didn't return, change my voice mail greeting to let everyone know that I'm gonna take a nap for a bit

630 pm - 8:30 feeling guilty and wasting time writing this. I gotta go check my voice mail.....
