Hi everyone.  I have recently decided to try out this new hobby, and was looking for some pointers on where I should start?  I browsed the ads at CraigsList and they all seemed to worry me.  I followed a link and came upon TER.  I was just hoping for some advice on what to look out for, or maybe someone who is willing to introduce me to this hobby.

Obviously, you have broken the ice with at least one encounter. But, Phoenix411.net has independents and agencies for your consideration. Reputable resourse. If you want more info on the providers listed in the agency section just click over to those sites. For the most part I use, Mystique, TLC, AZ Confidential and Desert Divas. After you have identified a provider or 2 or 3 or 4 (indy or agency).. go to TER and try to find reviews. No reviews? Well, I would postpone getting together. The reviews will point you in the direction you want to go. Have fun. Be careful. Be safe.

I would suggest following the board here to see who is being reported about and checking the individual posts from the gals. A nice way to get a "feel" for their respective personalities. You might even elect to "flirt" a bit with some of them, or they you, on this board allowing you to get a further indication of who you might "click" with.

...First,everytime I've been burned it's been when I've seen someone who had only one review written by someone who's written only one review. So I don't see those women until they have at least six reviews by guys who've done a lot of reviews. That one review could have been written by someone who's a friend or got a freebie to post a 9-9 review.
Second, if a reviewer has 12 or more reviews, look at the pattern. If everyone got a 9-9, that guy probably isn't very discriminating. Very few women should get all 9-9's. (The few who should are identified below).
Third,read the rare 3-6 performance reviews carefully. When a woman has all 8's and 9's, and one guy gives her a 3 or even a 6, you may read that the woman hustled him into the shower and out the door -- and in the meantime, didn't do stuff she did with other reviewers, I immediately suspect the guy showed up disrespectfully drunk and smelly. Who can blame the woman?
Finally, if the woman has a lot of high ratings interspersed with low ones, that tells me her inconsistent performance my be compelled by her fondness for dangerous amounts of substances. Erratic behavior often has a reason -- and usually not a good one.
P.S., I can vouch for three women in particular who really are 10's and better than their reviews (in alpha order): Lena, Mona Lisa, and Mya. They're real bright, beautiful, authentic good people who are professionally committed to ensure you leave happy. I'll soon find out if another woman with a similar rep, Andi Ryan (formerly Megan), is in the same league. My research and telephone conversation with her tells me she is.

I guess another question I have is how a girl will react to an over weight guy?  I am only 25, and I am overweight, so I do have some stomach to me.  Would the girls from any of the sites you recommended not accept me as a client or does that not apply?

Although weight can be an issue (certain positions can become more difficult for the lady), as long as you are clean and groomed - for the most part the ladies don't have an issue.

If you are obese or are self conscious about your weight, you may want to mention it prior to booking the appointment. If the lady does have an issue, she can politely (and she will be polite) decline the appt. If you are self conscious about it - you've then prepared her and she can better manage any reaction she may have.

That is not a problem, if you have references you can get an appointment with any of the girls, don't worry about that...

I went through the reviews, and came upon Cherry.  I made an appointment, and it was well worth it.  She was amazing, and I honestly think, with her excellent service, I could defintly get into this.  I highly recommend her.
