probably going to take my chances with HOTWIRE or PRICELINE since I don't plan to spend that much time in the room.

I'd appreciate advice on bookstores, breakfast places, and strip clubs, artsy-fartsy local color, etc. I don't mind driving and I intend to walk some.  Thanks for the info. and MERRY CHRISTMAS.  BTW, I've already done my research on the ladies, but I wouldn't mind hearing more.........

the Penthouse Club, Highliter, Bourbon Street with two locations, central phoenix and tempe.  Borders has a large bookstore at Biltimore Fashion Park and off Camelback and 19th street.  Check out ole town Scottsdale for all your Arts needs.

And after a long day of sight seeing give us a call for one of our expert companions to end your day on a high note.  But better yet, why not consider one of them to accompany you on your odessy around town, enjoy some dinner and then have a extremely nice dessert.

My favorite link to all that is artsy-fartsy in our town is below.

As for bookstores and stuff - what type of bookstore are you looking for? Rare/Unique? Mass marketed? Used? A nice people watching bookstore? I'm not a bookstore hound myself, but some folks here may be able to suggest something...

Enjoy your time here!

Breakfast try TC Eggingtons in Mesa or Chompies in Tempe. Bookstores the chains are here and there is Changing Hands in Tempe for the eclectic.
See if the  lumanerie walk is still at the Botancial Gardens.  Don't plan on walking a lot in town we are urban sprawl at it's  best!

Bookman's in Phoenix & Mesa - used
Changing Hands in Tempe - indepemdent new & used
Poisoned Pen  Phx & Scottsdale-independent Mystery
Bookstar Phoenix & Scottsdale - chain

Any special type books you're interest in?

Best, Jim

and there's always First Friday in Phoenix -- art walk. There are several locations, but for more contemporary art and the feel of New York warehouse-style art, go to Grand Avenue and Roosevelt areas. There's also Thursday night artwalks in Scottsdale, but I'm not sure about the winter schedule. You can walk old-town Scottsdale if you're nearby. I also like the Biltmore Shopping area because it usually is good for people-watching at the Coffee Plantation and has some good restaurants. For alternative restaurants and fun, check out Tempe. They have many mom-and-pop-style restaurants that feature great ethnic cooking. Scottsdale and Phoenix are also known for their restaurants (albeit a little more upscale). I love the Persian Garden in Scottsdale and Havana Cafe in Phoenix.

Ciara
