Hello;
   I'm seeking out suggestions for a dinner place. As my date is a visitor herself, I can't ask her where she'd like to go. I'm staying in North Scottsdale so something close would be ideal though not absolutely necessary.
   I've done some research elsewhere but thought I'd ask board members what their favorite romantic restaurants are. Thanks in advance for any help!
                                                                         Regards........RR

As her what types of cuisine she enjoys? And perhaps send her links to places that you find, that she might enjoy. And so she can dress accordingly.
I do a lot of dinner dates and we talk about various types of food beforehand and or the *setting* of places where we might enjoy. And if he's visiting on business. I send him links to various places that I've either been to and or that have great reviews. And then I let him pick the place.

It's sweet of you though to reach out for suggestions.   Laugh, talk a lot and enjoy each others company. Dining with a date is something special......

Thanks p2kb4;
    All 3 showed up in other places too. But your personal notes about each is exactly the sort of info I'm seeking. Thanks again!

Thanks M'Lady;
   Applicable thoughts and I should have been more detailed in my first post. I know the lady rather well. She enjoys everything from sushi, to steak & potatoes to killer salads! Any other words, she's easy to feed as long as it's made with high quality ingredients. I've dined with her before and how she maintains her svelte figure escapes me, though I always work some of those calories off with her afterwards.
   For ambience I'm hoping for a spot with good acoustics ie not a lot of loud background noise. A place with some distance between tables, booths are good. She is a tease extraordinaire so ideally someplace where her antics will generally go unnoticed except by me.
   Again, thanks for your thoughts. You offer some good general ideas.
                                                                                                        Regards......RR

I get so tired of people saying Capital Grill, Mastro's, Ruth Chris, etc..

Head to Old Town, try Bandera, it's great and not nearly as stuffy as the above mention steak houses.  Even Blue Martini has a better, slightly more casual feel than white table cloth steak houses with butcher apron waiters, lol...

Dining on the patio at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain.
Seasons 52 at Biltmore- entrees under 500 calories, light, and great.  Sit at the bar area, hopefully the hot blond piano player is working.
J&G Steakhouse, with the sunset view (copied that one, but done it)
Pointe of View at Pointe Tapatio (7th Street).  Amazing views of the town when the sun goes down.
Roy's at JWMariott Desert Ridge
Roaring Fork.

Couple will be taxi trips, but well worth it.

Been to all, two thumbs up for them all

Location Hilton Tapatio cliffs, Different Point of View, get there alittle before sunset like 15 minutes and watch the city turn for day to nighttime lights!!!  (602) 866-6350 last used in November.

I am very very partial to t cooks at the royal palms.....small quiet, romantic stroll  to the restraunt...stop and have a cocktail brought to you!!..absolutely gorgeous...amazing cocktails...excellent food...then dessert overlooking one of the very private reflection pools or belltower overlooking the pool and city....

every time I leave I look down the driveway..thinking there is camelback rd and reality..can I just turn around.?...
isn't that what all this is ...fantasy...

just saying....!!...

All great recommendations, but for my money I love Binkley's in Cave Creek. Try the tasting menu with wine pairing. If you are a foodie it's the only way to go!!!

Hands down favorite is Lon's at Hermosa Inn, N. PHX.  Great food, great service, great wine list and very private dining.
