I have experienced a fair amount of difficulty getting “Submitted Reviews” approved in a timely manner of late. The most recent example took eight days to receive a “Rejection” and another eight days after that to receive final approval.
That particular one was rejected because:
“Your review was denied for lack of information in the details section. Your
review is too short in length and/or lacks detail in general.”
I take writing Reviews very seriously and having submitted lots of Reviews, my Reviews are NEVER short and NEVER lack details. The same Review that was rejected was re-submitted and published AFTER I complained via E-mail.
I have seen (especially of late) so many sloppy, poorly written and short Reviews being published; that I am quite flabbergasted when I receive a Rejection for this reason.
Another example of a recent rejection was:
“The website that was included in your review is not a direct link. TER requires that websites submitted in reviews link directly to a page that lists the provider's name and contact information.”
That was incorrect and it took a couple of E-mails and many days to get it fixed and the Review finally published. Meanwhile, I have noticed recently, that several Reviews (for Phoenix in particular) have been published with references to non-existent Websites or Ads.
Who is reading our Reviews? Who is doing the checking on their validity?
Am I wrong or has the quality and timeliness of Published Reviews suffered of late?
I have had the same experiences on all of mine as well!!
My experience has been spotty! Some reviews are simply accepted while others are rejected. And, the reason for rejection is always, not enough intimate details ! My take is that is that different TER reviewers have different takes on what a good review needs to cover. I tend to avoid, what is for me, too much intimate detail, but do include, what I think is enough info to guide readers to determine if 'she is for me' because that is what I look for in a review. TER, are you paying attention?

Regarding rejected reviews, I've had my issues with those too but it seems they have not been kicking my reviews back over the last several months
My last review got turned down for not being explicit enough after I PM Admin they had it posted without any changers to it.
I neglected to mention I had exactly that experience - twice!
We certainly have no Grammer Experts reading them.
Like the outsourced Eastern European customer service guy in the TV commercial, sitting in his hut with a dozen separate phones ringing, right?
We have no TER-linked moderator to shed light on what's going on, and anyway, for obvious reasons it's never been their practice to shed too much light. Plus it's their ball and their court. They are not really accountable to any of us for how they conduct their business. It is what it is.
I've had valid problem reports marked "unapproved," a rejection which of course comes with no further explanation. In one case I pressed the issue via the "Contact Us" form and after three frustrating and unproductive exchanges with the first-line staffer, requested that it be escalated to "Admin". ("Admin" is the apparent TER moniker for senior staff or management.) To his credit, he did. I next got a reply from "Admin" that thanked me for my tenacity and confirmed the validity of my report, which was then approved and acted upon. So if you really have an issue, use the contact form and request escalation to "Admin" if it's not resolved to your satisfaction.
There have been other instances where a problem report is approved, VIP days are awarded, but the correction isn't made in the profile. Go figure.
Meanwhile, until recently someone here was flagging almost every new review with a problem report. Whenever I tried to occasionally enter one, I found there already was one open. It was as if someone was camping out on this site and entering problem reports as each new review came up. Curious, I clicked on the problem report box (without actually sending one) in the profiles of other new reviews; they almost all showed an open problem report. WTF?! My bet is somebody here was/is nit-picking any review/profile detail to create a problem report just to try to build up awarded VIP days instead of writing reviews or paying the fee. That kind of nonsense doesn't help.
TER is apparently short on staff, and as with any job, some who do it are better than others. It's not a perfect world. Meanwhile, let's not bog down the process with contrived problem reports. The same people process both the reviews and the problem reports, so if they're buried in input it'll just take them longer to wade through it all, and delay posting of the new reviews.
And hope that there isn't just one guy named Peggy who's assigned to read everything from Phoenix.
This was funny:

You might be the only person reading this who got my comment about Grammar Experts reading them.
Fabulous Patricia!
Incidentally, other than you, no Spelling Experts either!
I tried to post a review of a new provider. My review got rejected due to the lack of reviews for the provider. I was speakless at the reason of the rejection.
