City of Tempe, Disgusting Behavior !!!

Most of the city governments in our county, and I'm sure elsewhere,  trample all over the rights of people who don't understand the the legal system.

Normally, when I read an escort's arrest report, I find more crimes committed by the city police from their own admissions then the escort.

No wonder they bully all of you to plead guilty, because if the injustices served by the police were ever brought to the public record, they might have to answer some questions of their own.

You need to start complaining and not just to your friends, but formal complaints.  They can do whatever they want until you stand up and say "NO".

Earlier this week, I had seen a story about an Indian family in Tempe and it was so disgusting that I had intended to file a complaint on their behalf with the state ag office, but my housekeeper must have thrown it away cuz I can't find the paper now and I'm not having any luck with Google.....  I think it was the East Valley Tribune.... The family had settled on 2 acres of property back in 1892 which was 20 years before Arizona was even a state and the City of Tempe had the audacity to tell this family that they didn't have any right to that land because it belonged to the City of Tempe and they forced this family out of their home.... .. I'm pretty sure that the City did not compensate them at all.

That is so wrong, so greedy, it's embarrassing.
I doubt this family understands our government well enough to even know how to fight back.
I don't think that was legal and if it was, it definitely shouldn't be.
If anyone knows the name of the family or can find it, could you please send it to me ?

You can squat property for 7 years and own it, but it's impossible to fight a system that you don't understand and I feel as if it relates very much to this community because the same thing happens to the escorts all the time.

The photo they had in the paper of this old Indian dude with all his stuff out in the yard BOTHERS ME.
Also not sure if complaint should go to state or federal AG, so I would appreciate any advice or if an attorney would take an interest in handling this case, that would be great.

Maybe there's more to the story, but I can't think of anything that would justify this.

While losing ones home is devastating, it is literally a junk yard, and there have been a lot of complaints.

Why draw attention to yourself like that, knowing that eventually someone is going to complain about you trashing up the area?

"Trendy condos and apartments have sprung up to the west, and those residents have pressured the city to have the family clean up the cars, construction equipment, trailers and ramshackle structures scattered across the dirt lot."
And I think it is the least they could have done.

the government has the right to take anyone's property, but they do have to pay a fair market value for it.

i agree its an eyesore, but they were there first and nobody had to buy land near them if they didn't like the view.   the people who did probably got a good deal on their property because of it, so they have no right to complain about it...... that is ridiculous and greedy to reap the benefit from it and then try to get rid ot it. . . nuh uh.

the attorney should just concede ownership was held by the city but the sussex family successfully squatted it because then they could be the legal owners without having to pay tempe *squat* for back taxes since it was owned by tempe, there wouldnt be any back taxes to pay.

thank you for the links.
im going to shoot off my mouth (looks like it cant possibly hurt)  in a couple of emails LOL.
hopefully a few elected officials will want to catch some headlines for something besides arresting escorts for a change !

Spoken like a true American Colonialist.  I guess we're not done stealing land from
the First People.  "Trashing up the area" is the same excuse used to steal land from
Free Blacks during Reconstruction, portraying the Irish, Polish, German,Chinese, Japanese,
post WWII European Jewish, & modern Mexican Immigrants as lazy, dirty, garbage strewing
miscreants that has always been used as a justification for land grabbing opportunists to steal
property for real estate venture capitalists, hell bent on creating some kind of supposedly
clean sterile fantasy environment for normal English speaking "True Americans" read :
White Anglo Saxon Protestants.  As I've gotten older, I can now say honestly, that I've
heard the same arguments over & over & over again, applied to newest arrivals to our society.
What is truly galling is the fact that it was applied to the original owners of American
real estate.  But it does not surprise me that the residents of Tempe (the epitome of
Yuppie arrogance) is trying to foment class divisions to line their own pockets.

Yes, I am one who truly loves this nation, but that does not mean that I cannot criticize what
I believe are injustices to certain citizens of this truly great nation.

it was right to "steal land". I meant I think it is wrong to make a place look so trashy you offend your neighbors and make them not like you, therefore drawing negative attention to yourself.

So, I guess you have now appointed yourself Chief of Curb Appeal Police.  I thought
Arizonans are supposed to be, these fierce defenders of private property.  Maybe
Libertarian thought is left at the Tempe city borders & private property protections
are enforced only if you own (in your own words) "Trendy condos and apartments" that "have
sprung up to the west, and those residents have pressured the city to have the family clean up
the cars, construction equipment, trailers, and ramshackle structures scattered across the dirt
lot". What a bunch of Bourgeois doublespeak crap. These residents were here back when there
were only desert dirt lots.  It's the newcomers with their newly acquired mass produced, "trendy
condos and apartments" who are despoiling the natural beauty & grace of the Sonora desert, with
a manufactured sense of entitlement & believe that their vision of what the "oasis" in the desert
is supposed to look like:  cookie-cutter looking boxes with green spray-painted lawns and crammed
multi-family high-rises that siphon away more and more power & water to quench their appetite for
some false sense of entitlement to transform the desert to look like Los Angeles, with endless miles
of concrete, particleboard, and asphalt. I've heard all of this before & it will probably be articulated
again, the next time some politically connected developer gets another city or town to mount another
transformation of dirty desert lots to even more "trendy condos and apartments"

Were in quotes for a reason... They were not my words, those are from the article, lol.

You do not even KNOW ME and that is not my style... I can only say that eyesores are just that and it does not take all that much effort to TRY to at least keep things looking decent.

You are passionate about this and I can appreciate that, but could you please stop crucifying ME for my own opinion and for quoting an article? I honestly think that this is pretty uncalled for.

BREATHE.

Peace,
Cheyenna
