Cards, Shock the World!

I love my Cards! For years we have had disappointment and failure. It’s hard to shake off that feeling. Just as the team has struggled to “learn how to win”, the fan base is struggling to “learn to believe we can win” also.
The most humiliating game experience I have ever had was the Monday night fiasco against the Bears. You remember, it was Denny Green’s “we let them off the hook game”. Lots of bear fans in the stands (as always), but we dominated the first three quarters. The Redbirds were unstoppable. Then (as always) we fell apart and failed to finish the game. Well I’ll tell you, those Bear fans really let us have it leaving the stadium. I saw more fights in the parking lot that night than all the other games that season combined. We were embarrassed!
Counter that night with the victory over the Eagles for the NFC title. WOW! To see my team win the title and lift the trophy…..WOW! But honestly there were times in the stadium were you could feel the emotion and the fear. When they (the Eagles) took the lead many, including me, thought back to that Monday night loss. Are we going to let them off the hook? They came back and won alright, but the doubts were there. It was the greatest game experience I have ever had.
Now we go to the Super Bowl, I know we can beat these guys. I am wearing my Cardinal gear. I have my flag on the truck window. I have my Championship towel hanging in my office. I am nervously optimistic. It will be tough, but we will beat this team. But I’m not afraid of a loss either. If we do lose, on Monday when I show up at work I can take all the criticism and finger pointing laughing at the hapless Cardinal Fan. It can’t be worse than that Monday night!
The average bandwagon fan is still unwilling to commit. I see a lot of ho-hum support. People are just not convinced the Cardinals can win. When the Suns went to the finals this town went nuts. Not so for my Cards. I think the bandwagon fan is on the fence hoping and holding their breath.
I only hope that after we win this thing the victory parade makes history as the Cardinals Shock the World!

XLIV = 4

And there won't be a Steelers fan to be found. My team isn't playing, but I've always been a big Larry Fitzgerald fan.

Go Cardinals.....Burn 'em!

Ive been cheering for the steelers since '72 and the cards since 88.  We will have a few ladies over for the pregame party and during the game..

DA & FA
