I have not been a hobbiest for long, but in the brief time I have been I have had to cancel or should I say reschedule and I have had it happen to me as well.  It's a part of the business.  Maybe I have been fortunate because I have always had the provider set up a different time with me and follow through.  

I have a session set-up with a very reputable provider in a couple of weeks in which I have booked a resort for us to get together with some very special fun planned.  I know that there is always a risk that something will happen for each of us.  We both know the date and have talked about it but shit happens!  

It sucks that this happened, but I always make sure the provider knows if I have set up or done something special to create the date!

Unfortunately, the provider I was scheduled to see tonight had to cancel on me.  Since I drove all the way up from Tucson and paid for the hotel already, I'd hate for it to be a wasted trip.  So, I was seeing if anyone had any advice on anyone who might be able to do a last minute booking.  I know it's probably too late to find anyone, but figured I'd check before I hopped back in the car and drove back to Tucson.

Cancellations happen, but they're a lot easier to deal with when you're in town for another reason in the first place.  When you travelled for the sole reason of seeing a provider, too many things can go wrong and you can end up sitting in a hotel room with absolutely nothing to do if someone cancels.  So, I think I'll chalk it up as a learning experience and only book if I have another reason to be in that city from here on out.

Just my two cents.  Take them for what they're worth.

Why doesn't anyone ever mention who these providers are?  If everyone is so worried about tarnishing reputations or soundling like sour grapes, then it probably best to show up  to the appointment or at least give notice.  Since this comes up from time to time, wouldn't it be beneficial to somehow document when "things come up"?

He did say she cancelled - which means she gave notice.
He never said she just didnt show up, He said she cancelled.

Please read the entire post clearly before you make a post saying that she didnt give a notice- no call no show.

If you want to be like that about hurting a providers reputation when she had an emergency and called and cancelled then how about this..... Everytime a gentlemen cancels because his meeting runs late or his boss made a suprise visit to work or purhaps your wife came home a day early. Us providers, will post your names all over the provider only board telling ladies not to see this man because his meeting ran late and he had to cancel. So stay away...

I understand that cancellations hurt providers as well as hobbyists.

Apparently, the provider cancelled after he drove two hours or so and paid for a hotel room.  In addition to that, he had a two hour return trip.

His initial post simply asked for other available providers in the area.

I have driven an hour for an appointment after a phone call confirmation just 3 hours earlier, with a subsequent no show and no prior or later communication.

Asking for the providers name in this case is justified. She has the option to apologize and
rectify the situation.

The honorable hobbyists and providers will always make good on special circumstances.

Sorry, but the "emergencies" that some ladies run into are a joke. Please dont every woman take this personal, Im sure you have your gripes about us, but since Im the guy, Im presenting my frustrations dealing with "some" ladies.

Obviously stuff really happens, but the other night a provider told me she was ON HER WAY TO THE HOTEL and would text me when she got there so I could come over. So I waited, and waited and waited, not wanting to schedule with someone else out of courtesy. I texted her, no response. The next day after another text, I got the "oh sorry I fell asleep" line. How did you fall asleep if you were driving? It made it so it was too late for me to schedule with anyone else.

Last night, at 2:30 AM I spoke with a lady who said come on over, call me when you get here. So I drove the 30 minutes, got there, called and called and called. It wasnt until a few hours later when I texted her to thank her for wasting my time and fuel and would not have anything positive to say, she responded back "sorry, death in the family". Really? In the half hour that I drove over? I'm calling BS on that.

I will tell any guy backchannel, because I dont think you can write reviews of people you didnt see. I asked the guy who posted here who the girl was and he never responded back either. I got your back if you got mine.

Guess it depends on whether he told her ahead of time that he was driving 2 hours and getting a hotel just to see her.

If he told her prior to coming up, and then she cancelled on him...I don't want to see someone that might do that to me.  If it truely was an emergency and definitely knew about his time and financial commitment to see her, she should makes it up to him somehow.  Of course if she makes it up to him, she shouldn't be outted.

If he didn't mention a word about having to travel up here and get a place, it is his fault and he has to eat it.
