Look at the three ad/website pics. Not a single one with a smile. My theory: that indicates something about the nature of the provider's personality. No smile = no warmth = no sense of responsibility to the client = you are simply a dick with a wallet. And, the attitude will be that the former must be unenthusiastically dealt with as a necessary evil in order to have access to a chunk of the latter.
I suppose there could be exceptions, as if the provider misguidedly (in my opinion) thinks this is some kind of a sultry look that's attractive. But, I'll go for the one with a big smile every time. Unless there are great reviews to contradict a first (pictorially unsmiling) adverse impression, I am and will continue to be put off when there isn't at least one smiling photo.
Since I can't submit a review of a provider I did not end up seeing, this will take its place. Beware of Jen (194047). She has a couple of decent reviews. I tried to see her yesterday. She made me wait for 30 minutes with very sporadic text responses. I finally got frustrated and left. I texted her to tell her I was leaving and why. She responded with absolutely no hint of apology. Didn't seem like she was that interested. One of her reviews indicates the reviewer got similar treatment as I did.

I rarely smile (I have a few tho like 3) in mine either and guess what? I'm sweet as pure cane sugar lol. It just usually never occurs to me to smile (just to look sexy).....I might have have a little smirk usually.
Oh and a lot of people tell me my teeth are perfect and ask me if i've ever gotten braces or get them bleached (no and no)....thought i'd throw that in lol.
I'm sure you are correct that many providers (including yourself) with non-smiling pics are true sweethearts. The problem is we may never find that out if the pic does not cause us to take a second look. I think there are often times differences in what the providers think the hobbyist want, and what we actually want. I will usually pick the provider with the self-pic smiling, laughing, or acting goofy over the provider with a professional portrait stuck in a rigid pose that is supposed to be seductive (but I go for more the girl next door look). I would agree with the posts that say I rarely go for a non-smiling pic. The smile denotes warmth and personality to me. The last thing I want is a provider who is just all business, and the smile helps alleviate my concern (along with good reviews which I may never read if the pic doesn't intrigue me). There are so many ads on all the different boards that marketing and differentiating yourself in this industry is key. As a great example I would point out Krista Starr. Most provider ads read the same and I pay no attention to them. Krista's ads are a unique seductive story that shows some of her personality and intellect and always keep me interested. Maybe there should be a thread where providers can solicit feedback on pics, ads, etc.
