...Yes, it is OK to PM the reviewer of the lady you're wondering about. It's acceptable etiquette and back channeling is a good way to find out what you need. Consider the credibility of the reviewer, tho. How many reviews has he posted and does he seem legit.

I suggest that you introduce yourself to anyone you PM, tell them what boards you hang out on and where he can find info on you. I don't feel comfortable sharing info in a PM with some guy whose handle I'm not familiar with and who seems to just appear out of nowhere. Unfortunately, we can't just click on a hobbyist's handle and see his profile like we can with a reviewed provider.

There are some "one hit wonders" out their on the review side.  I usually like to wait until there are at least a couple of reviews to get a legit "average" of the numbers, but as 85003 said (and a reviewer I follow as someone who has my tastes) if there is only one review and it is from a valid source, then I give it consideration.
