Danny and I have sent out many e-mails about the Tsunami Fund Raiser on January 27th at 6:00 pm. The fund raiser will be held at the Penthouse Club located at the I17 and McDowell. EVERYBODY IS INVITED. However, to be considerate to the club we would like to get an accurate head count.  Please e-mail Danny or Angelina if you haven't heard from us and would like to attend.  Your advanced notice would be greatly appreciated.  If you cannot make it your contribution to this cause would be a wonderful act of kindness.  Looking forward to seeing you all there!

It was just brought to my attention that 6 pm is very early for some people.  I understand that we will all need to drive in traffic and many work until 5 pm.  We plan on staying for most of the evening.  So if 6pm is to early for you, than feel free to join a little later.  Please just attend if possible.

You always have my attention!   Can't wait to see  everyone and have some fun  PLUS  raise  money for a good cause  at the same time.   Good to get  double benefit
Hope many of you can make it early  or latter.

PS   I see it  was late  when you were writing  is that a  typo  is it on the  26th  or  27th?   You need to  get to bed earlier my dear , let me know if I can help tuck you in.

98% of what you donate will go to the cause.  You can choose the charity of your choice too.

That is a fact. Charities will tell you differently...but they are only obligated to donate 10% of all contributions. In order to hold on to their tax exmeptions, that is all they require of them.

We have a charity in mind that we believe 98% actually goes to the source and only 2% to Admin costs......... I'm attaching a link. It's getting quite boring having to defend Angelinas and my intentions. Angelina is spending many hours trying to put this event together, I applaud her efforts.

This is not just a party.  You are collecting funds which
make it different.  You should have spelled out how it will
work at the start.  Even the mod had to ask, and then you
gave a very vague answer.  I repeat - this is different than
just a party.

I do not know you or Angelina but as a general rule I would
never give money this way.  It's just too easy to give directly
to a charity.  And it is too easy for the money to somehow
get lost.  I know you will take that as a personal attack but
it is not.  It's just being realistic based on the fact that
I don't know you and there will be no way to verify things.
Call me a cynic - I call myself a realist.

You should just TALLY the amount given and let people send the
money themselves.  If you think about it, by doing this, you
get all the upside of your venture (charity, meeting people),
and none of the _possible_ downside (like suspicion or loss of
funds).

I applaud you for arranging a get together and for raising
awareness of this cause.

I simply put out a buzz about this to generate interest and to make people aware of the time , date, and place. I assure you within the next few days I will inform everyone of our plans and how it will work. I havent checked with the money order people, but i dont believe if you had a money order made out to the red cross that I could cash it, nor with a personal check which i doubt anyone would give us. Yes if we get cash I could do as i wanted with it but I dont need or want that kind of money. I guess you could join us and make sure the funds are disperssed in the proper manner, I would not object. We could count the money after the event and all go to a money order place and buy money orders, put in envolope a deposit it in a us mail box. Check and balances work for me as I wouldn't trust to many people with cash. Please give me a few days to work it out and then everyone can disect it and deceide if they want to attend or not. I hope to have spare time this weekend to think this out and put on paper, I want to do this right, haste makes waste. If you can and want to help out just send me a PM and we can hash it out.

LOL!  I changed it.  For those of you who read the message earlier.  It is the 27th of January.  YES!  I need to be tucked in!  I was up all night sending out emails.  It seems to be the only quiet time I have.  Thank you sweetie!

You state that the event will be a fund raiser but you do not state how the fund raising will be done. Are you collecting fees at the door, selling raffle tickets...etc?

Were keeping it simple, maybe a bucket to just drop you contributions in manned by Angelina and myself. No min no max, just give what you want and tell me who your choice to give is and we will make sure it gets there. Check, money order made out to your choice organazation or cash. were easy, no real rules, give what you want

This system you and Angelina have developed seems pretty loosy goosy...shouldn't it be properly organized and sanctioned by the charity itself? Did you know that it is against the law to raise money for a charity without their knowledge or consent? If you are just collecting checks from people for "whatever" charity they want..why not just let them do it? Doesn't seem very well organized. If you are intending to raise money for the Red Cross, as an example,...you need their approval.
