...beind me in the picture for some time now.  Something about it just sort of resonated in me when I saw it.  

I don't know much about art or art history or what makes art critcally successful.  But I do know that every time I see that painting I feel like I have to have it.  That, to me, is what makes for good art.  

Stendhal Syndrome isn't the right term, but it's the first one that comes to mind. If you've ever read anything by Chuck Palahniuk, the guy who wrote Fight Club, you know what I mean.
