Many are not aware that starting Jan. 1, that would be Thursday, police can stop you if "Arizona" isn't clearly visible at the top of the license plate. Violators will be fined an average of $135, plus court fees, depending on the city where the violation is discovered.

So please go check to see if the frame around your plate covers "Arizona" across the top.  Police can pull you over for this and who knows what else they will tack on.  So avoid the hassle and check your rear plate and frame around it if you have one.

Happy New Year everyone.

Good info Misty.  I'm in FL. right now but before coming I had put a reminder on my computer as I knew I would forget to remove my plate frame when I get back.

I can see me leaving the bar after two beers angetting stopped for the plate frame blocking part of AZ. out.

Many people are unaware of the law. Good post.

...can I get you to check my rear for me? It's kinda hard to see myself!

Any time sweetie you know that.
If I can be of any service you know who to call.  I have always been a rear end connoisseur and I can never resist an nice "hinee".

But it doesn’t surprise me the gov is looking for any way they can to get more $$$ from us.

Can’t wait to see what they come up with next year. They may even want to but cameras in our bedrooms since they got most the freeways covered and traffic lights.

Have a happy new years.

I've heard that this law originated due to the proliferation of specialized license plates, to the point where there are about 60 different-colored unique designs, many celebrating that the plate's purchaser is a MEMBER of something or other.  Problem is that without "Arizona" being visible, the issuer of the rarer ones would be anyone's guess.

So having re-visited Misty earlier this week, I can attest that if you must now remove that FRAME from around your license plate and are bemoaning the loss, you'll soon forget all about it if instead you do as I did.  She will orally FRAME your MEMBER much more memorably than ever was done by that foregone rectangle of plastic or chrome.  (And speaking of chrome, remember the old movie line about sucking the chrome off a trailer hitch?  Right, we have that gal right here; see above.)

It was great seeing you again.  I did enjoy "framing" your plate.  Hope to see you again soon.

Happy New Year.
