Reportedly she is still alive, but unconscious and on life support in the ICU.

No information yet on whether it was a friend or client who attacked her in her home. Nothing obvious was stolen and there were no signs of forced entry into the house.

A most terrible tragedy, and so close to the recent sad news of Alexis in Las Vegas.  

Such bad stuff.  Please be careful ladies.  Allow yourselves  the security and respect you deserve.   Do not end up just a fond memory.

My initial reaction to these tragedies was the same as everyone else. But the last few days on trauma service have put a little perspective on this issue for me.  

There is a great deal of violence in our society, and it is, I suppose, inevitable that providers and hobbyists will at some point or another be involved or affected by this violence. It may not (probably not) be related in any unique way to the hobby. It is more likely a reflection on our culture than on providers of the hobby.   Be safe, be careful, be prudent, but don't let unreasonable fear damage all the good things were share in this activity.
