I've had an experience that somewhat falls into this category. I previously lived in another city before moving to Phoenix and before I started hobbying. Ended up being sent on a consulting assignment back to this previous city about two years ago. I joined a reputable local board and went to a mixer where I bonded with another hobbyist who eventually recommended a somewhat UTR provider after we had hung out a few times.
I ended up contacting her with his reference and after a few weeks of our schedules not jiving, we finally made an appointment at her incall. I showed up at her incall and she opened the door. Standing before me was the ex-girlfriend of one of my best friends. Both of us were pretty floored as we both remembered each other from our lives "before the hobby". We were to able move past the fact we knew each other and have some wine. After a few glasses of wine, she confessed to me that she always had a crush on me and I admitted the same to her. It looked like all things were going well.....
Until she mentioned that she had a rule that she didn't mix business with pleasure and that she didn't provide to her own acquintances from her "real" life. I was hoping that meant that I would be able to have a non-PFP/booty call arrangement since she had a crush on me but alas she stuck to her rule which I respected. We continued to hang out while I consulted in town as friends (unfortunately not with benefits) and kept in contact for a while until she moved back to her native Canada and got married. Although we remained friends, she asked that I didn't contact her again after she was married because even though she trusted me as a friend, she was cutting off all contacts from the hobby. Since I was part of the hobby, I had to be included. I respected her wishes and haven't spoken to her since.
Like you went to school with them 10 years ago, and now they're in the business. Whether she remembers me or not, is it wrong to call her by her name?
I've never ran into the name thing and was quite curious.
Second, has anyone ran into an old high school / college friend in the hobby? How did that meet work out?
I understand ladies want to keep their identities a secret for their safety and what not, what happens when you know a provider by name?

I am 24 and guys I have known, guys who are all in their 20s( guys who were just friends, guys I went to high school with, or just guys I went on a date with ) have emailed me saying my real name in the email.
I wont even reply, It catches me off guard and bothers me . But I honestly believe if they never said my real name I would have emailed them back and they would have had a chance to see me.
It may not bother you, but it could make her feel very comfortable. Sure it would be nice if we can live in a world where everyone can be open and friendly without fear of black mail or extortion. But unfortunately thats not the case. Since a lot of women fear the problems that come along with knowing her real name .
*Excuse the craziness of my thoughts, I know lack of structure
*
I would keep your mouth shut , but if she says something a long the lines of , "you look familiar " then you can respond with " you know what, so do you, I think we were in school together a while back. " and then you can casually bring it up.
I hope that helps

As for the 20something guys trying to get your attention using your real name; I think you will find as with most "boys" they will either grow up and respect you or just go away as they will seek their giggles elsewhere.
