Thank you to the ladies and many gentlemen who showed up this evening to pay tribute to our friend and colleague. We raised almost $1700 tonight for Ms. Manae and I am damn proud of every single one of you who came out to support. There were also donations from people not in our community who simply asked me why I was sitting there and who felt compelled to donate.
I spoke to Manae while enjoying my dinner, compliments of a very special gentleman, and she asked that I extend her heartfelt gratitude to all of you who came out in support of her. She is, I believe, overwhelmed by the support of all of us, as am I. It brings tears to my eyes.
From one parent to all of you, parents or not, thank you for caring and loving your fellow human enough to open your wallets and your hearts for this lady of ours who has been dealt a cruel blow by fate. I am in awe of all of you generous souls. God bless you all.
I'm so sorry I wasn't able to make it tonight, I'm less than 2 weeks from a relocation to Europe, and simply had to work on cleaning out the apartment. I am not a parent, but I am a friend of Manae's. I am deeply touched by the care you and others have shown for her, and know that she is appreciative of any and all assistance,
